Prior to Draft Day

• On June 24, exercised third-year team options on guard Raymond Felton and forward Sean May. Extended qualifying offers to guard-forward Bernard Robinson, Jr. and forward-center Melvin Ely, thus making them restricted free agents.

Draft Day

In the 2006 NBA Draft, the team selected:

• Adam Morrison, Gonzaga, First round (#3 overall)
• Ryan Hollins, UCLA, Second round (#50 overall)

Offseason

• On July 28, re-signed guard-forward Bernard Robinson, Jr. to a 2 year contract.

• On July 31, signed center Ryan Hollins to a 2 year minimum contract.

• On September 11, signed forward Wálter Herrmann to a 2 year contract.

Regular Season

• On January 3, acquired guard Jeff McInnis for guard-forward Bernard Robinson Jr..

• On February 13, acquired forward Eric Williams, a 2009 second round pick (originally belongs to the New Orleans Hornets) and cash considerations from the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for forward-center Melvin Ely.

• On March 16, waived forward Eric Williams.
