Fast & Furious 7 is a upcoming 2014 action film and thriller film written by Chris Morgan and directed by James Wan. It is the seventh film in The Fast and The Furious series and is intended to be a direct sequel to The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious 6. The film will be directed by James Wan, instead of Justin Lin, director of the past four films. It is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2014. Most of the previous film's cast will return. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordanna Brewster, Lucas Black, and Jason Statham are set to reprise their roles from the other films.

- Chris Bridges as Tej Parker, a member of Dom's crew.
- Jason Statham as Ian Shaw, the main antagonist. To get ready for the role, Statham raced with "Paul" Walker.
- Lucas Black as Sean Boswell, protagonist of Tokyo Drift.
- Bow Wow as Twinkie, Sean's friend.
- Nathalie Kelley as Neela, Sean's girlfriend.
- Elsa Pataky as Eva Neves, a former girlfriend of Torreto.

Production

[edit]Chris Morgan started working on a script serving as a sequel to Fast Five, but Universal Pictures stated it was too big for one movie, and it was thus decided the script be split into two movies: Fast & Furious 6 and Fast & Furious 7 with a single story running through both of the films. Initially, the films were to shoot back to back, but this idea was later scrapped.[1] On December 20, 2011, Vin Diesel stated that Fast & Furious 6 would be split into two parts (Fast Six and Fast Seven) with writing being done simultaneously, on the decision, Diesel said:
We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relastionships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages...The studio said, 'You can't fit all that story in one damn movie!'[2]
On April 4, 2013 Justin Lin confirmed he wouldn't return to direct Fast Seven, as he'd have to work on post-production of Fast & Furious 6 while working on pre-production for Fast & Furious 7.[3] Later in April, it was confirmed Universal Pictures had chosen James Wan as director, Mortiz and Diesel returning to produce. Wan had stated he imagines the film as a "1970s classic revenge thriller" and additionally wishes to have "old school" action scenes in the film.
Pre-Production
[edit]Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were confirmed to be reprising their roles as O'Connor and Toretto. Johnson then said he may not be able to reprise his role for the film if they kept pursuing the film at an accelerated rate, as he would be unable to appear as that would cause scheduling conflicts between Fast Seven and Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Neal H. Mortiz stated that Johnson would appear in the film. Jordanna Brewster confirmed she would reprise her role and expects the film to be another "fun ride" for fans. Chris Bridges and Tyrese Gibson confirmed they would reprise their roles as Tej and Roman. Michelle Rodriguez also confirmed she would reprise her role, as well as suggesting filming to start in September, 2013. Jason Statham stated he would portray Ian Shaw, and is practicing driving with "Paul" Walker. Lucas Black, Bow Wow, and Nathalie Kelley would be reprising their roles from Tokyo Drift. Gibson and Bridges suggested a female love interest for one of their characters, also suggesting Rihanna or Halle Berry to portray the love interest. Denzel Washington was offered a small role in the film, which would become a major role in an eighth film; he turned it down, however.[4] Johnson later confirmed that he would indeed reprise his role.
Filming
[edit]Production is scheduled to be released on September, 2013. Diesel stated the film will film in Tokyo, Los Angeles, and the Middle East.
