[edit]Tip of the day...
Please summarize your work using the Edit summary box
If you make anything other than a minor edit to an article, it helps others if you fill in the edit summary. Edit summaries are visible in the page history, watchlists, and on Recent changes, so they help other users keep track of what is happening to a page. If you use section editing, the summary box is filled in with the section heading by default (in gray text), which you can follow with more detail. You also can put links to articles in the edit summary. Just put double brackets around [[the article title]] like you would normally. The summary is limited to 255 characters, so many people use common abbreviations, such as sp for correcting spelling mistakes, rm for remove, ce for copy-edit, etc. – – Read more:

Consensus is to Help:Edit_summary#Always provide an edit summary. It's a shame you've so far shunned ESs - is there some reason why you've done so? ~~~~

[edit]Continued flouting of wp:ES#Always provide an edit summary
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to WWW. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Trafford09 (talk) 21:20, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia relies on wp:consensus, and our all adhering to its guidelines.
One such is wp:ES#Always provide an edit summary. Please adhere to it, or state why the consensus doesn't apply in your case. Trafford09 (talk) 06:33, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Why are you special? wp:ES#Always provide an edit summary

Don't we all just love Wikipedia? It gives us many free rights:
- the right to open our own account
- the right to edit articles
- the right for other people to come and help us, when we put {{help}} here - like you did just above
- the right to look up anything on a huge encyclopedia
And what does Wikipedia ask, in return for all this? Well, not very much at all:
- Wikipedia asks that we all follow some simple rules, to help everybody.
- One of the these rules is wp:ES#Always provide an edit summary.
- This is not much to ask, and it is not difficult.
- But you seem to find it not just difficult, but impossible?
- Maybe you are a special person? Please could you tell us why you are so special?
... or perhaps you would consider setting a good example, and following the rules, like the rest of us ... Trafford09 (talk) 07:22, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Please reply to concerns
[edit]Hello WWW. I have a concern - probably shared by others - that you don't read Talk pages - even your own. Please prove me wrong by adding a comment of your own, here under mine.
The reason for my concern is that myself & other editors have had issues with your editing style.
We have left helpful tips for you here, but there is no evidence you have read any of them.
Indeed, the pie-chart of your edits shows that all your contributions - bar none - have been edits to Wikipedia articles. You have never - on this account - edited a Talk page, even your own.
My guess is that you are not a natural English-speaker, and it would be refreshing to know that you spoke and understood English.
Wikipedia works on wp:consensus, and therefore it's important to know that all editors can communicate here in English and collaborate.
Please respond here. Thank you. Trafford09 (talk) 08:53, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Well, you continue to ignore Wikipedia wp:consensus, on wp:ES#Always provide an edit summary. And you decline to answer why the consensus doesn't apply in your Special case. To me, that's vandalism. What do you think? Trafford09 (talk) 1:53 pm, Today (UTC+1)
Reminder
[edit]Thank you for your positive response, and for now supplying Edit Summaries. By the way, in case you were unaware, to avoid accidentally leaving edit summaries blank, you can select "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" on the Editing tab of your user preferences. Regards,
Suggested solution
[edit]I have a perfect solution for this...
- What you need is a tool...this tool...follow the directions on the page...
- Paste the following script on that page (it has not been created yet):
- importScript('Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Force edit summary alternative');
- This tool would force you to write an edit summary whenever you forget to write it...
- Happy editing! Farjad0322 (talk|contribs) 11:42, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks to Farjad0322, for the above suggestion to another user, which I've copied to here for future reference. Trafford09 (talk) 12:18, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
