Good evening[1], everyone,
this is the user profile page of User:Tuxman (not my real name). Please take off your shoes here.
My Wikipedia history
[edit]For a rather long time, my main focus was on the German Wikipedia because that’s where my native language skills would help the best. My first edit there was on Oct 2, 2004. When the unified login was introduced in 2008, I suddenly found myself having an account here as well, while still mainly contributing elsewhere. I decided to make this my primary account in November 2020. Expect to see me in the version histories more regularly in the future.
Why I stopped contributing to the German Wikipedia
|
---|
In Summer 2020, I decided to try my luck to become an administrator for the German Wikipedia, which was how I found out that there are a lot of emotions involved with the Wikipedia community. Given that I had been rather immature in some discussions when I still needed more experience, my candidacy received mixed comments, and after reading enough of them, I felt that my behavior there - unprofessional comments in discussions, deliberately trolling certain subjects, editing hot topics without seeking a consensus first - had angered enough people for a lifetime. Subsequently, I cancelled my candidacy and sent my account there into hibernation for a while.

Personality traits and future plans
|
---|
Having been diagnosed with Asperger’s[2] and sociopathy[3] a few years ago, I understand most of the criticism. My increased activity on the English Wikipedia is my attempt at a restart. Let me try to contribute to this mostly useful project and let me know when I fail at basic human behavior. I’ll try my best to not disappoint you.

Article work
[edit]I usually edit IT articles and I sometimes contribute to music-related articles because those are the topics where I have the most sufficient knowledge as of today.
