Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, 178.18.116.65. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your IP address is registered to Phaidon. You should refrain from adding any reference to or mention of that company to any article. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:04, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Racing driver categories

[edit]

Please stop adding 'category XXX (nationality) motorsport people' where the article is already in an appropriate sub category. For example, Chris Amon is already in Category:New Zealand Formula One drivers which is a sub category of Category:New Zealand racing drivers which is itself a sub cat of Category:New Zealand motorsport people. Always place in the most appropriate sub category. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 19:46, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 178.18.116.65, removed content from the page Milan without giving an explanation. Please always provide an informative edit summary when removing content from pages. If 178.18.116.65 is a shared IP address and you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors and further irrelevant notices.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Peaceray (talk) 15:54, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Gino Udina

[edit]

Hello, 178.18.116.65. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Gino Udina".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 17:03, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
