Information icon Hello, I'm Rhain. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Talk:Sweet Baby Inc., but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Rhain (he/him) 04:29, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was pointing out Alyssa's flippant attitude towards having questions asked about her journalistic integrity, which she should be able to answer if she was being transparent and in good faith.
To quote the SPJ code of ethics:
Journalists should:
Explain ethical choices and processes to audiences. Encourage a civil dialogue with the public about journalistic practices, coverage and news content.
Respond quickly to questions about accuracy, clarity and fairness.
Acknowledge mistakes and correct them promptly and prominently. Explain corrections and clarifications carefully and clearly. 24.201.177.245 (talk) 05:25, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Her "attitude" is irrelevant. Falsely attributing statements to her is in violation of our policy about living persons. Hope that makes sense. Rhain (he/him) 05:31, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I should've quoted her saying "You’re not my boss! I don’t owe you shit! Bye!" when asked to clarify her unethical choices in her shitpiece but I paraphrased, point still stands, using an unethical advertorial as the main source for a wikipedia article is still wrong. 24.201.177.245 (talk) 18:05, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
