School IP address Attention:

This IP address, 66.203.17.40, is registered to Miami Valley Educational Computer Association in Yellow Springs, Ohio and may be shared by multiple users of an educational institution. In the case of institutions using proxy servers, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism, in which case please see here.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block with the template {{schoolblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of persistent vandalism, anonymous editing from this IP address may be disabled for up to 6 months at a time while abuse reports may be forwarded to your school administration for investigation in case of long-term abuse by registered users.
This IP has been repeatedly blocked from editing Wikipedia in response to abuse of editing privileges. Further abuse from this IP may result in an immediate block without further warning.

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Consumer Product Safety Commission. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Sciurinæ 12:13, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Chihuahua (dog)

[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive.
Your recent vandalism will not be tolerated. Although vandalizing articles on occasions that are days or weeks apart from each other sometimes prevents editors from being blocked, your continued vandalism constitutes a long term pattern of abuse. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Joe Sewell 17:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umm...

[edit]

Just so you all know, this is a school computer going through a blocking proxy that serves just about every school in many states, so blocking won't help in this case. Even worse, those of us like me, can't log in because its blocked.

I could be mistaken, but I think if you create an account and log in, then you will not be blocked from editing when the anonymous IP is blocked. - Davandron | Talk 15:40, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A slight clarification: there are apparently at least two types of blocks, one in which the IP address is blocked from all edits (including signed in users) and one in which only anonymous edits are blocked. Hopefully vandelism is being performed by anonymous users and the block can be limited to them. SeeWikipedia:Blocking_policy#Options for IP blocks. - Davandron | Talk 15:46, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Washington Irving, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Kafziel Talk 18:35, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for repeated vandalism. If or when the block expires, feel free to come back, but please make useful contributions instead, and refrain from vandalising or this account will face longer blocks, and action could be taken against the individual who uses it. You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. -- Necrothesp 18:17, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
If you wish to contribute to this encyclopedia, please create an account at home and log in with it here.

Due to persistent vandalism (see edit log), editing by anonymous users from your school, library or institution's IP address may be currently disabled. If you are logged in but still unable to edit, please follow these instructions. To prevent abuse, account creation via this address is probably also disabled.

If accounts need to be created at school for class projects, please have your teacher or network administrator contact us (with reference to this IP address) at unblock-en-l from an email address listed on your school's website. Alternatively, if you have no Internet access at home, you may email us using your school-issued email address with your preferred username and an account will be created for you. Please ensure that any username you choose is not listed as taken here.

Thank you. — {Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( Timrollpickering 00:51, 5 February 2018 (UTC) ) at the end of your comment; or[reply]
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( in the enhanced toolbar, or if you use the old "classic" toolbar) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you.}

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Portrait. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Ethiopia. Your edits have been automatically marked as unconstructive/possible vandalism and have been automatically reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Ethiopia was changed by 66.203.17.40 (c) (t) blanking the page on 2007-12-11T17:50:17+00:00 . Thank you. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia after the block has expired, you will be blocked for longer and longer periods of time.Caknuck (talk) 18:53, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
