Request for comment

Hello there, a proposal regarding pre-adminship review has been raised at Village pump by Anna Frodesiak. Your comments here is very much appreciated. Many thanks. Jim Carter through MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:46, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

What is your opinion concerning these sources?[1] --Kansas Bear (talk) 22:52, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

I'm in no position to discount what a highly-circulated Turkish newspaper says, but for an article on history, we should rely on scholarly sources not newspaper articles. The new material added from the Zaman, while interesting, should be removed for now. If the information can be supported by scholarly sources, then that's a different discussion. As far as I can see, the consensus of scholarly sources say the Ayyubids were ethnic Kurds who were gradually assimilated into the Arabic culture. --Al Ameer (talk) 02:05, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Shukri al-Quwatli

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Shukri al-Quwatli you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Seattle -- Seattle (talk) 03:01, 4 July 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Shukri al-Quwatli

The article Shukri al-Quwatli you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Shukri al-Quwatli for things which need to be addressed. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Seattle -- Seattle (talk) 13:20, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Subdistricts

Hi, a new editor has created Category:Villages in Hama and the subdistricts of Hama Governorate. He insists on naming everything Hama and isn't categorizing by districts or indeed using your nav plates by district. He's also split Category:Villages in Syria in the same way without Governorate naming. Perhaps you could speak to him. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:39, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Basma

Basma now satisfies my DYK-check...the Saladin-reference could be fun to use? Btw, I think it is the Mu'awiya shrine pictured here, perhaps we could ask to use it? Cheers, Huldra (talk) 20:42, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

Your input is required on the topic of Syrian Civil War maps

Dear user, you input is required on the question whether adding Israel as 5th belligerent to Syrian Civil War maps is legitimate, due to you previous participation on Syrian map module in June 2013. Please discuss it at talk:Syrian Civil War#Adding Israel as belligerent on Syrian Civil War maps.GreyShark (dibra) 09:01, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

This is a dishonest and non neutral comment and inappropriate canvassing. The discussion is not to ad Israel as 5th belligerent to Syrian Civil War maps, but to show that in a map showing the "Current military situation in Syria" Israel is occupying the Golan heights. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 13:05, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Shukri al-Quwatli

The article Shukri al-Quwatli you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Shukri al-Quwatli for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Seattle -- Seattle (talk) 21:23, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Apologies for the language in the template assuming that you are a newcomer - we are required to give the notice (which includes pretty useful information on resolving the problem) before closing out the listing at WP:CP. This article is several years old, and quite probably you would not encounter these issues now. I've placed an explanation of the problem on the talk page of the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:00, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Difficult editors

There are major problems in the Talk page to article Kidnapping and murder of Mohammed Abu Khdeir, not the least of which is POV (esp. inclusion of unrelated material). One particular editor seems to be trying to hijack this article, even deciding he can remove material from reliable sources. I would love to engage in a meaningful discussion but it seems almost impossible with him. He is trying to enlist support from an Israeli moderator,[2] so for the sake of balance in the discussion, I think a Palestinian administrator should weigh in as well. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kobanê, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Assyrian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
