New page reviewer granted

[edit]

Hi Anwegmann, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! —Ganesha811 (talk) 19:44, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Yesterday (2024-08-16) the above article has been deleted, because of lack of significant coverage of the subject. I found some references ref-1 and ref-2. I think they can be considered as having significant coverage of the subject. Especially the first source is in my opinion a good one if we talk about significant coverage.
What do you think about the references, especially about the first one? Web-wiki-warrior (talk) 13:13, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Both sources are WP:ROUTINE, as the first one is from the league's website, which is not "independent," and the second one is a transfer notice. So both are not WP:SIGCOV. Anwegmann (talk) 16:48, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your opinion. My point of view: There are many Wikipedia articles about football players where the only sources/references are websites of the players' clubs. In the case of the deleted article, I think the league website is much more independent than a club website. Web-wiki-warrior (talk) 20:56, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And those articles should not exist and should be tagged for deletion eventually. WP:OTHERSTUFF exists. That doesn't make this page or any other page you've created special. You have to follow policy when making these pages. Your opinion about what makes a player notable, in the end, doesn't matter. I know it can be very frustrating. But that is the way of things. Eliano Reijnders & Mees Hilgers

[edit]

Hi Anwegmann. Is there any reason why you have to revert edits of both Eliano Reijnders & Mees Hilgers? Yes both are Dutch, but they're no longer because they change citizenship to Indonesia which is fact, and there's source in their wiki as well. The people who change their Nationality did not do wrong as it's to update, and they're not vandalize. Or is it better to say both are Indonesian Dutch. Thank you. Thfeeder (talk) 00:37, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Because they go against long-established WP:FOOTY standards concerning nationality. Neither player has ever played for Indonesia, and both have played for the Netherlands. So until they actually play for Indonesia, the lede must remain as "...is a Dutch professional footballer..." Once they have played for Indonesia, it will become ambiguous: "...is a professional footballer." Anwegmann (talk) 09:52, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
