G'day!
[edit]G'day there, Blinutne, and welcome to Wikipedia! Good authors are always welcome on the project, and I hope you like the place and decide to stick around!
We've got a few pages you might find helpful, such as:
It's all best summed up here: write from a neutral point of view, play nice with others, and don't let the rules get you down.
If you have any questions or need any help, my talkpage is always open for business, or you can see Wikipedia:Newcomers help page. Here's a tip to start you off: if you type four tildes (~~~~
) at the end of any messages you leave on talkpages (like this one) Wikipedia will automatically insert your name and the current date and time after your message. Cool, eh? Happy editing! fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 05:10, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Mount Le Conte
[edit]Hi! I just wanted to complement you on a good job on your Alum Cave Bluff Trail and Mount Le Conte articles. You've made some great contributions in this area. The two young Mount Le Conte artiles were merged and I would like your comments and edits on the new combined artile. Having tried my best on the merge, I know I must have missed or forgoten something. Please leave any direct comments on my talk or the Mount Le Conte talk page. CUSA
[edit]i see you tagged the Conference USA tournament for merging....did you know there are dozens of conference tournament pages like this? Older conferences have more fleshed out histories but in time CUSA will have more info to share too. WillC 14:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, yes I did know that there were other pages for conference tournaments, however, I was not aware that any of the others were in the same state as the CUSA page. Regardless, the page for the mens basketball tournament really does not have sufficient information. The page doesn't even mention anything about the schools listed. It just says, for example, "2002: Firstar Center, Cincinnati - Cincinnati." The reader is left to assume that the school listed won the tournament, which, while not really a stretch, really isn't well done. Now I also tagged the page for cleanup, which you cannot argue that it needs. It should probably include each of the schools participating in every year of the tournament, the results of the matches, tournament MVPs, and anything else that would give the page more breadth. Now the primary reason that I tagged the page for merger, besides that the article does not have enough descriptive information, is that there should be some mention of the tournament results on the main CUSA page. Essentially, the information on the tournament's page contains the basic information that should be on the conference page--which is why I feel that the page should be merged. Even if the page is cleaned up there should be more than a wikilink on the conference page. But of course feel free to disagree with how I see it. Blinutne 21:27, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Louisiana_Almanac_2006-2007_Edition.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Louisiana_Almanac_2006-2007_Edition.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU≈talk 02:14, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cumberland County, Tennessee, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
