Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ikkivg.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ikkivg.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:48, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Flipull.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Flipull.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 22:25, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Captain Planet and the Planeteers, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. ~QuasiAbstract (talk/contrib) 18:29, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Captain Planet

[edit]

My reversion "nonsense" comes from the fact that you did not provide a citation for the changes. From the verification policy: "Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed" and "the burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material". This is the reason that I reverted the change. You should provide and cite the reason for the changes and not expect other editors to do the footwork. I'll add the cite for you this time, but you cannot expect others to always trust that "[your] edit is right." Please read Wikipedia's 5 pillars for more information on Wikipedia's policies. ~QuasiAbstract (talk/contrib) 15:46, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Time Limit (game)

[edit]

I have nominated Time Limit (game), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Time Limit (game). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. ~QuasiAbstract (talk/contrib) 16:14, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced templates

[edit]

I understand. It is of my doing that there are no references to determine the notability of the articles you created. I was the one who didn't follow the verifiability policy of Wikipedia. Thank you for showing me my flaw. ~QuasiAbstract (talk/contrib) 04:20, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Challenge (video game)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Challenge (video game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ~QuasiAbstract (talk/contrib) 16:57, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My editing

[edit]

I apologize if it seems that I have insulted you by attempting to improve unreferenced articles. Since no one owns the articles on Wikipedia, please do not take my editing personally. As it is noted beneath every edit box on Wikipedia, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly [...], do not submit it."

Yes, I did notice that you didn't like to provide references on articles, as in Captain Planet. Then once I saw that you didn't even provide references for the articles you created, I used that as a launching place to tag the articles as unreferenced so that you (since you created them and know about the subjects more than I) or another editor (including me) can go back and add references.

All I ask, is that you provide references. Obviously, you got the technical information in the articles from somewhere and if the plot information only came from personal gameplay and if the article's subject is noteworthy enough, you'll find information on it somewhere. Just tag the information in the article as such.

Again, I'm sorry if you mistook my edits as personal attacks. They are only attempts to improve Wikipedia. Thank you for your time. ~QuasiAbstract (talk/contrib) 09:04, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thinking about what Wikipedians say to me

[edit]

The reason that I didn't respond is because of the fear that you Wikipedians would think of me as a troll, that I vandalize in bad faith and I ask frivilous questions about my story, "My Beloved Girlfriend". That, User:Bolt, is the reason that I didn't respond. I was just thinking of what you said to me about doing my own pages and stuff like that. Ericthebrainiac (talk) 20:16, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Telemundo page

[edit]

User:89.32.78.20 appears to be a bit confused regarding acceptable/accurate changes to the Telemundo page, which you have edited recently. I'm keeping an eye on it (as I think you are, too) and reverting poorly-chosen changes, but since I will be without Internet access from mid-June until the end of July, I thought I would give you a heads up that I'll be gone in a couple of weeks and the page may be in need of monitoring. Orphaned non-free media (Image:City0004.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:City0004.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

The article Cinecanal Classics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Puzz0000.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 02:08, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Diamond (video game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

All that the references show is that the company made this product. Otherwise, this is a non-notable Chinese Arkanoid Famicom clone made by a non-notable company, and I could not find anything out there after searching that shows otherwise.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --MuZemike 19:05, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Gamestick.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gamestick.gif. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. Notice

The article Mr. Kougar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable arcade game. The only source used, which has identical text to this article, is nothing more than a database listing with no indication of notability. Further searches only turn up similar listings. Nothing capable of passing the WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
