Admin inactivity

[change source]

Hello. This is a notice to inform you that your account was below the activity requirement of 100 edits and/or actions as of 1 October 2023. If this count is below 100 on 1 January 2024, your admin tools will be removed per Wikipedia:Inactive administrators. If you know you will not be active over the next couple of months, feel free to let bureaucrats know and they can just be removed now, otherwise it will be done automatically at the beginning of the new year. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 17:55, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ferien thanks - I just returned to activity globally after a long break. I'll see where I am in December - if I'm not near the threshold I'll just request removal. DannyS712 (talk) 19:09, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. It's nice to see you around again, I hope you are doing well :) --Ferien (talk) 19:12, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Swing that mop boy!! We need admins to stay admins. :) fr33kman 19:08, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ferien @Fr33kman it looks like I've hit 100 edits and log actions combined, so I'll stick around another year :) --DannyS712 (talk) 01:35, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great to see you are staying around :D --Ferien (talk) 16:21, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's good to know fr33kman 16:26, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw that theuser en:User:Moheen that you and I supported for global renamer is indef blocked on enwiki. I've changed my mind. fr33kman 18:55, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would have seen it regardless but thanks anyway DannyS712 (talk) 19:17, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

BTW: As part of being an admin here I believe you must have an active email address. FYI fr33kman 18:57, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Fr33kman given the LTAs that have targeted me I have my email disabled on most wikis but if you need to discuss something private just post a note here that you need to talk and I'll let you know what wiki(s) my email is available on (not just saying that here because I'm sure the LTAs watch the page) DannyS712 (talk) 19:19, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, ok understood. LTA's are pain in the ass. They ruin it for everyone, lol fr33kman 19:23, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The current policy says "Redirects to the User: or User talk: space from the main article space and vice versa." MathXplore (talk) 07:34, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, thats odd - why do we allow quick deletion of other user's subpages? Maybe they want to keep the redirect? If you put the tag back I won't remove it, but I'm not going to perform that deletion myself, and I think it might be worth a discussion to see if we still want that criteria to be supported in the other direction --DannyS712 (talk) 08:09, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On those QDs I should have mentioned they are recently created by a block/banned user. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:01, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@PotsdamLamb who is the blocked user that is evading their sanction? Both there and for some of your other QDs it would be helpful to say who --DannyS712 (talk) 03:02, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DannyS712 look at the block log for that ip. They literally just came off of their block for the same reason https://simple.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/block&page=User%3A80.2.6.163 Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:04, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb but that log also didn't say who it was - unless I recognize an LTA I cannot simply assume that they are evading a block without knowing whose behavior to compare it to DannyS712 (talk) 03:10, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not have access to it but if CUs are blocking them for block evasion that is enough evidence for me to say they are evading their block. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:13, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb okay, but unfortunately that is not enough for me - what if the underlying block that was being evaded has expired? --DannyS712 (talk) 03:15, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Special:Contributions/Zeshan_Mahmood. MathXplore (talk) 03:18, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please also check User:ImprovedWikiImprovment/Reports/Pakistan and User:Chenzw/Reports/Pakistan. MathXplore (talk) 03:20, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MathXplore you never cease to amaze me! Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:22, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Comment: Fehufanga is not a checkuser. Kk.urban (talk) 03:15, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kk.urban He is an oversighter which is higher than a CU Wikipedia:Oversight#Users with oversight Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:21, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb oversight and CU are fundamentally different, one is not "higher" than another - OS doesn't have access to CU information --DannyS712 (talk) 03:23, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb I don't see what makes one "higher" than the other. Checkusers can view IP addresses, accounts, and user agents; and oversighters can hide page histories and view the hidden items. They're two separate jobs. Kk.urban (talk) 03:23, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Higher may have been the wrong term. I was under the impression OS had the same views as CUs to be able to verify in order to block. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:27, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, oversighters don't have those abilities. See Special:ListGroupRights. Kk.urban (talk) 04:21, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kk.urban Thanks! Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 04:28, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But granted as well, ip was added to VIP board but it will go stale as normal I expect. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 04:29, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

hey can you correct the link of Monas and Lover (album) on Wikidata as they are both connected wrongly there... Also for Monas connect it to this link and Lover (album) is available with same name on En Wiki, I don't know much about editing on Wikidata so I'm telling you this -- 💌Ayesha46 (talk) 18:55, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ayesha46 so for Monas the wikidata item is connected to National Monument (Indonesia), it seems we have a duplicate page. If you can take care of merging the two articles on simple wiki I can update wikidata. Its the same for the album - the wikidata item is connected to Lover (Taylor Swift album). Again, if you can merge the articles on simple wiki I can update wikidata. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 19:06, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
better delete it since they are both duplicate pages and also the information mentioned in Monas are unsourced so don't think it's good in merging it -- 💌Ayesha46 (talk) 21:35, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ayesha46 I don't really understand - for each set of pages (the two pages about Monas and the two about Lover) we should only have one, but the other one has some content that might be worth merging, and even if not we should still keep it as a redirect. If you can handle the merge/redirect I can update wikidata --DannyS712 (talk) 00:11, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Merged/Redirected Done ✅ now you take care of Wikidata... -- 💌Ayesha46 (talk) 04:16, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ayesha46  Done --DannyS712 (talk) 04:31, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
