You are currently being accused by several editors of being a sockpuppet. The tag is placed on your user page, and it is not vandalism. The tag was placed by an administrator Felonious Monk. You cannot remove the tag until the case has been resolved. See Wikipedia:Sock puppetry for more information. Do not leave nonsense comments, especially ones making false accusations of vandalism on user pages. If you want to discuss something use User talk:Orangemarlin. I know you know better. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Thank you.. Please stop reverting your sockpuppet tag. Orangemarlin 22:42, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]Hi; please see Talk:Chinaman (racial term). Though you've probably noticed them just wondering about the ethnonym/racial term dispute now; "does he ever stop?". It's amazing that, even with ample evidence of official and casual use, his new article doesn't mention any of that, except for the 1913 Webster's. Some people need to keep their head in the sand I guess; but for now that he's been forced to conceded that inoffensive uses are possible it's a start; but I still don't like the new title and will work to change it; I may just do it later myself, although it now may take an admin to do it as there's already been one namechange on the newpage. I like your points, and like others made by others in a similar vein, he either can't answer them or answers with red-herring questions/definition-restakings. Hmm. I've been asked to look at you. As yet, I see no evidence you're a sockpuppet of a banned user, beyond slight similarity of interests. You have, perhaps, edited Jesus as myth in order to make a point about Intelligent design - don't do that, it's a violation of WP:POINT, but seem alright. User:Orangemarlin and User:FeloniousMonk aren't actually vandalising you, but I think they're mistaken in their belief.
Well, anyway. I don't see any evidence you've done anything badly wrong, so just... act sensibly and try to work with people, and don't ddo things just to make a point. Good luck! Adam Cuerden talk 01:11, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Adam, as I posted before, there is a process to remove the Sockpuppet tag. This editor is a suspect, not confirmed. And the process must be completed before he removes the tag. I was tagged once by a Raspor sockpuppet, and I waited for the process to finish, which in my case took about an hour. An admin removed the tag. Your opinion, right now, weighs as much as mine, and I think we should pass judgement after the process has run its course. FM placed the tag, and has once again reverted ElderStatesman's removal of the tag. We shall see. I've seen this process before, and he is repeating exactly what was done by one of Raspor's sockpuppets. I'm more suspicious now than ever. Orangemarlin 03:44, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well compare his contribution history to that of User:Everwill, indefinitely banned from the project:
User:ElderStatesman is clearly a sock puppet of Everwill, his contribution history matches Everwills exactly. WP:SOCK says "Do not use multiple accounts to circumvent a block." It also says "Accounts operating in violation of this policy should be blocked indefinitely; the main account may be blocked at the discretion of any administrator." ElderStatesman is clearly evading a community ban and per WP:SOCK is to be blocked for circumventing a ban. FeloniousMonk 04:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion is preposterous, but don't worry. You don't have to work that hard. I'll just stop contributing. ElderStatesman 13:30, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
