[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Alexandra railway station, Melbourne, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Pinkadelica Say it... 03:25, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
About your recent new articles
[edit]I, and many others, appreciate your effort to article these railways, but please add citations and a bit more information to your articles.
Such little information that you have given does not warrant for an article to be made.

Little context in Cathkin railway station, Melbourne
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Cathkin railway station, Melbourne, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Cathkin railway station, Melbourne is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Cathkin railway station, Melbourne, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 03:40, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Station articles
[edit]Hi there, even though we have permission to use the images from http://www.vicrailstations.com in articles here, we just can't go copy-pasting the entire site into Wikipedia. Another thing to keep in mind is that all stations on a railway line do not necessarily open and close with it, it looks like the articles you have made you have done this.
For an example of a really good railway station article, have a look at Seymour railway station, Victoria or Mangalore railway station, Victoria for a more basic but still good one. I am not sure whether you have access to a big pile of railway books though, some online suggestions are at Talk:Rail transport in Victoria/Station resources. Just remember copy and pasting isn't on. 136.186.1.189 (talk) 23:55, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
In addition to the above, not that we cannot use images which are licensed "with permission" for Wikipedia use. They must be available under a free license, such as GFDL. Please check that all images you upload are from non-copyrighted sources before uploading. If you upload images with misleading and untrue license tags you may be blocked from editing. Proposed deletion of Kyabram railway station, Victoria
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Kyabram railway station, Victoria, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Kyabram railway station, Victoria
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ErikTheBikeMan (talk) 04:50, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Kyabram railway station, Victoria
[edit]I have nominated Kyabram railway station, Victoria, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kyabram railway station, Victoria. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dscr logo.gif}
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Dscr logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image copyright problem with File:Beech Forest station site.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Beech Forest station site.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 08:30, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Image permission problem with Image:Portland5.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Portland5.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit]The recent edit you made to Victorian Transport Plan has been reverted, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. - Thanks for the note. I apologize if I have made a mistake. My concern was that the content appeared to have been copied from [1] which appears to be under copyright (it carries the notice "Copyright Expotrade Australia Pty Ltd"). Since this appeared in the first edition of the article, there was no prior version to restore to. I would be happy to restore the article if you can show that the material is indeed released into the public domain, or is licensed under an appropriate license. Nothing in the deletion prohibits recreation either, provided you put the material in your own words. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or if I am missing something in my examination of the copyright issue. Thanks, --TeaDrinker (talk) 11:50, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- Great sources, and I certainly think the article is important. My concern is the copy and paste from the websites which appear to be under copyright. It looks like the original article may be a violation of copyright policy. Is this your understanding as well? Many thanks, --TeaDrinker (talk) 01:35, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks for the clarification. I'm not sure that the discussion in those documents can be assumed to be owned by Australia, since each documents asserts its own copyright. If they are owned by the Australian government I think we'd still be in the same position. Unlike the United States where the government does not own copyright, works produced by the Australian government are not released into the public domain (as I understand it). Even if cited, the material can not be used in its entirety. It might be best to start the article using those references, but putting the material in your own words. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. --TeaDrinker (talk) 03:21, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Yackandandah station site looking up.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Yackandandah station site looking up.jpg, which you've sourced to Ross Thomson of http://www.vicrailstations.com. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 21:38, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Musk station.jpg, which you've sourced to Ross Thomson of http://www.vicrailstations.com.
Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 21:48, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:55, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:LegaSerieAlogoTIM.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:LegaSerieAlogoTIM.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
