There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Drmies (talk) 03:55, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for email. First, you cannot post anything here while you are blocked, and you will need to request unblocking to create a new account before you can do so. The request will be considered by another admin, not me. Don't be tempted to create a new account without unblocking, sock puppets will be blocked and your company name may be protected from article creation too.

The difficulty you face is that given your obvious conflict of interest is that an admin may make it a condition of unblocking that you don't write about your company. If you are unblocked, since you are paid directly or indirectly by the company you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:FractalDesign. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=FractalDesign|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}.

If you have any further queries, I will see them if you post on this page which you can still edit. I may notice them sooner if you if you start it with my user name, User:Jimfbleak and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ Jimfbleak (talk) 06:24, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[User:Jimfbleak] Thank you. Where do I post a mandatory disclosure on my user page? FractalDesign (talk) 06:38, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I used my company as user name which I should not have done, there I would like to change my username into HiskTW so I can make better contributions

Decline reason:

Nothing you say suggests that you intend to do anything other than use Wikipedia to create a page to promote your business, as you did before being blocked. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:02, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I also understand that there is a conflict of interest since I (HiskTW) am paid by my company, Fractal Design, to create this page. Because our competitors (Thermaltake, Cooler Master, Corsair) have a page and another company also called Fractal Design has a page and, in order to avoid confusion, I was therefore asked to create a page.

Because of the conflict of interest, I will disclose my relationship with my employer

Public relations representatives of companies should not create pages for their products. Please review the conflict of interest guidelines. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 04:46, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I have read that part but I cannot turn back now. It has already happened. Also, I have given the name of the company. I am very open about what happened and the reason why I am writing it.

I still cannot write the article? FractalDesign (talk) 05:13, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to know if I can continue under my username 'HiskTW'. Are there any other steps that I need to do in order to get my account active? Thank you FractalDesign (talk) 02:11, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember my warning above. You cannot use another account until this one has been unblocked, you must wait for an admin decision Jimfbleak (talk) 05:18, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • JamesBWatson said "Nothing you say suggests that you intend to do anything other than use Wikipedia to create a page to promote your business, as you did before being blocked." The key word is "promote". That other companies, competitors perhaps, have pages doesn't mean yours deserves one. You could ask James to allow you to create a page in draft space (see WP:FIRST). Unblock conditions

[edit]

[User:JamesBWatson], would you allow me to create a page in draft space? Then you can check and let me know if the page is to promote the business or just inform people. Thank you.FractalDesign (talk) 01:04, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would be willing to unblock you if you agree:
  • to create pages on topics with which you have a conflict of interest only in draft space
  • to submit your draft for proper review via Wikipedia:Articles for creation
  • in the event your draft is published in main space, you refrain from making substantive changes to it, and instead propose revisions on the talk page
If you agree, please post another unblock request as you did above, proposing a new username. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:34, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
