Silicon Valley

[edit]

HybridBoy, I've seen you make several changes to the Silicon Valley article with regards to hybrid vehicles and green energy. While editing is encouraged and appreciated, adding unsourced statements is generally is not. Not every edit to every article needs to have a valid reference, but broad or bold claims do. For example, you stated that the Clean technology industry is largely based in Silicon Valley. Do you have a verifiable reference for that statement? Thanks. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 14:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I included it from the beginning and it is in the reference section in the clean technology article. So, I incuded referenes, but I can add even more and more. Silicon Valley is a green technology leader, with bright and sucessfull companies in this field. HybridBoy 21:04, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, another reference would be appreciated. I didn't find the one you had as very reputable or widely recognized. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 19:15, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you repute New York Times ?. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/29/technology/29valley.html?ex=1327726800&en=1fb690beb9ee5a0e&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss In any case, it´s vox populi and you can find lots more in the web. You can call it Green (Sillicon) Valley ;-)--HybridBoy 05:54, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK... so I've began to assess the robotics articles. Please review the article assessment guidelines and help this WikiProject out by helping out with the following:

  • Adding Robotics-related articles to the WikiProject
  • Assessing robotics articles listed in Category:Robotics articles by quality
  • Helping out with giving comments to individual articles after assessment, pointers, comments, etc. (basically, don't just give an article class and move on, let people know what led you to give such a rating when necessary.

We need to get this article assessment drive going first before peer reviews and collaborations programs can be made.

Speedy deletion of Template:Exampleless

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Exampleless requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:08, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Gaia Power Technologies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Notability of FREEDOM Act

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on FREEDOM Act, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because FREEDOM Act seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting FREEDOM Act, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 17:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Gaia Power Technologies

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Gaia Power Technologies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Reads like an advert. The two references provided don't seem to provide much in the way of notability, being mentioned in a newspaper doesn't automatically equal notoriety as far as I am aware, if it did then my local corner shop could have a wiki page.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. magnius (talk) 20:13, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Green Gears, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Green Gears. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Optigan13 (talk) 23:40, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This is a form letter sent out to members of WikiProject Lead section cleanup.

I am contacting you because you are listed as a participant of the now defunct WikiProject Lead section cleanup. I have created a new WikiProject, WikiProject Lede Improvement Team (name subject to change), that likely has the same goals as the project that you signed up for was supposed to have. If improving the lede sections of articles is something you are still interested in, please stop by and add yourself as a participant. As well, if you have any thoughts regarding your previous experience with lede section cleanup, please stop by and share them. Thank you,  DiscantX 08:35, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Carbon emission listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Carbon emission. Since you had some involvement with the Carbon emission redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:39, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gaia Power Technologies has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The sources provided are only passing mentions, failing corporation depth standards. A source search shows little in the way of significant coverage that suggests corporate notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DrStrauss talk 10:37, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Gaia Power Technologies for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Gaia Power Technologies is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gaia Power Technologies (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. DrStrauss talk 10:37, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:UTC2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
