[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, we remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Talk:Angeles City. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mariah Carey
[edit]Hi there. I'm Orane/Journalist, an Administrator for Wikipedia. We appreciate your contribution, and hope you decide to stay.
Regarding the article: You keep inserting "female" into the last sentence of the first paragraph. But Carey received the award for 'Artist of the Decade' from Billboard, which means that she is the most successful artist for the 1990s, whether male or female. Please do not insert "female" anymore.
Additionally, Carey wasn't "voted" best-selling female pop artist of all time. Unlike subjective awards like the Grammys, no one voted. The World Music Awards are objective and based on record sales. She was named, or declared, or listed as the best selling. Please desist from adding "voted."
I'm not going to discuss the RIAA link. I'm still considering if it needs to be there. We do not make a point of touting someone's achievements in the intro (you keep saying that it needs to be in there because it's a big achievement). I think I spoke to another editor about this. If it so happens that you are the same person (I'm not saying that you are, but if it so happens that I'm right) then it's against our policies for one person to have more than one accounts (No Sock puppetry). Angeles City history section
[edit]Thanks for all your recent work in the History section. A well-written and informative narrative is one of the most important qualities of a good Wikipedia article. The Angeles City article is advancing toward Good Article status. / edg ☺ ☭ 08:57, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

RIAA singles
[edit]This "Artists with the most Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum singles" has been the title of the section since December of 2005 when editors added the multi-platinum certifications to the section along with the gold and platinum ones. All throughout the history of the article, all the certifications were added cumulatively, not just stopping with gold certifications. There's a discussion that's been started on about this in the WP:WikiProject Discographies talk page. However, when it comes to changing the purpose or content of an article, or a section of the article, a consensus must be reached. Taking it upon yourself to change the section to reflect what you want it to reflect instead of what's been represented for years violates the Consensus policy. So, until a consensus is reached, don't revert it.Odin's Beard (talk) 22:58, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Mariah Carey. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. You seem to have problems in comparison to Carey and Madonna. Just because you believe Madonna to have sold more does not make all the sources fake or unreliable.--PeterGriffin • Talk 06:43, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Mariah Carey
[edit]Hello, just letting you know, that just because a discussion has been completed. It does not mean that the lead can't be expanded or evolve with time as the artist grows/continues with their career. Things always change. That discussion was about a particular statement being used in the article. PS. Please remember about edit-warring. Jayy008 (talk) 15:47, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
