VandalSniper
Thanks for applying to use VandalSniper! You have been approved. If have not already done so, you may find instructions to install VS on the project page.
As some of the libraries VandalSniper runs on are currently in transition, there have been a few issues reported with setup. At the moment, Linux is the most compatible platform for VS. If you have questions or problems, you may find help on the project page or its talk page. Please also feel free to contact me for help and I will do my best to assist you.
Thanks for becoming a part of one of Wikipedia's best new software tools! -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 18:38, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Wilderness medicine
I've created a Wilderness medicine category, expanded the article on S.O.L.O., and done some revisions to the WEMT article in recent days. More needs to be done - we should have articles on at least Wilderness Medicine Institute and Wilderness Medical Associates as well. Maybe we can make this a mini-Project together, since it appears we're the two WEMTs on Wikipedia? XINOPH | TALK 17:49, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Isaac
There is a process to take over dormant usernames, Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations. Since that account has one edit, I'm not sure if you could do it or not, but go ahead and ask on that page. Andre (talk) 06:37, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Tourniquet
Hi there,
as far as touniquet goes, i didn't really remove any information apart from how-tos and the remainder of it formed part of Emergency bleeding control. It is my general preference to group related items like direct pressure, tourniquets etc. out of their own stubby articles in to one article which is of high quality.
In wikibooks, i'm not sure i'd add it to the wikibook first aid, as it really isn't a first aid skill except in areas where there is delayed access (oil rigs, wilderness etc.) and it can be quite dangerous to the patient.
If you have more information which isn't how to, then put it in to the tourniquet section of emergency bleeding control. If you have got how-tos maybe nip over to wikibooks and post it as a question on the talk here Owain.davies 16:35, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Blocking
You're right of course. I'm not an intensive vandal basher, but every so often I overreact to vandalism, particularly where it's clearly not just a newbie test. Jimfbleak 05:06, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK, user:triplek4. Only contributions are unpleasant vandalism. I blocked indefinitely, despite the guidelines, because the effect of a warning is likely to be a flight to another username to continue the nastiness. What would be your advice in a case like this? Jimfbleak 08:29, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK, the vandal lodged an appeal before I tagged the talk page, which confirms my hunch that this was someone who knew their way around. Another admin rejected the appeal, so the indef stands - thanks Jimfbleak 19:32, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
