Dome Creek
[edit]I am in process of creating a new Wikipedia page for Kidd, BC. Am I right in assuming the Hunter's homestead is closer to Kidd than Dome Creek? If so, I will move the photo over when the page is created. Do you have any other photos from the area? DMBanks1 (talk) 20:36, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
- DMBanks1: Hi there. I'm more into nature photography in general, so all my pictures are kind the same from there, no so many. The Hunter's homestead belongs under the Dome Creek, as of their land papers, address, etc. Geographically, it's the very end, south-east, though, just in the middle between Dome Creek and Urling markers. However there's no roads from anywhere else but from Dome Creek there, which is another argument for its administrative location. I'm not familiar with Kidd, BC. Only the road going there is called Kidd road. You can use the picture as you wish under the license that it's there though, if you find it useful! Since the lake is one of very few dominants in Dome Creek, I would keep the picture where it is for now. Cheers. JakubFrys (talk) 08:03, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- This lake is immediately north of the former Kidd train station. Kidd lies within the Dome Creek postal area. Historically, the name Dome Creek has been loosely applied to points both north westward, such as Bend, and points south eastward such as Kidd. I will be culling from the Dome Creek page all the content which should rightfully be included in the Kidd page, and adding "Kidd" to "Bend" at the conclusion of the Dome Creek prologue. If anyone has user rights for Dome Creek photos such as the former community centre, former school, former train station, the creek area, or the CNR bridge over the Fraser, they would perfectly illustrate the Dome Creek page. - Well I was just a visitor, not familiar with the place and its history too much. I have no photos of the mentioned places, but someone from the community could. Feel free to use my picture for Kidd page. JakubFrys (talk) 06:24, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
