Revert to Vinie007

Are you using a software to make this revert? Vinie007 is a good contributor to WP Albania, and in good standing. If he brought "Origin of the Albanians" as "Top Priority", there are good reasons behind it. Why did you make that revert? --Sulmues Let's talk 01:10, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Is bringing from High to Top a mistake, or are you calling his previous edit a mistake? --Sulmues Let's talk 18:08, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Yes it is. Kiko4564 (talk) 18:10, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

And why is it a mistake? He is a member of the Albanian WikiProject, while you aren't. Why would you consider a mistake his importance assessment and why would your judgement on the Albanian WikiProject be more important than his? --Sulmues Let's talk 18:19, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about the mistake, I didn't know that putting 'top' worked and for some reason igloo thought it was vandalism.

That's fine, just wondering, because I have done a lot of assessments myself. And thanks for the note. --Sulmues Let's talk 17:58, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. Kiko4564 (talk) 18:00, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Metapedia move closing

I've never used WP:RM before, but this seems really inappropriate to me:[1]. Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions says that non-admin closures should only take place when there is "Unanimous or nearly unanimous discussions after a full listing period," so it seems like a non-administrator shouldn't be rejecting a move on the grounds that there's no consensus when no discussion has taken place. If you're supposed to stick to situations where consensus is very clear than you shouldn't be closing things as "no consensus." I was going to just post this at the WP:RM talk page but I thought I'd give you a chance to reverse yourself first.Prezbo (talk) 17:36, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know that. I will avoid closing stuff as no consensus so feel free to revert that mistake. Kiko4564 (talk) 15:49, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
OK, no worries.Prezbo (talk) 17:01, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for your message. You caught me in the middle of leaving messages for the IP in question. I was leaving a "delete level 1" message for the template edit but the IP was also making changes to infoboxes that, while not vandalism, were messing things up so I was having to take some time to try and explain everything. Thanks again and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 17:12, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi again. The answer to your question is that I was trying to cover all bases before going to AIV. The way that IPs get dealt with will vary from admin to admin. Some might block the way things stood but others would say that the person editing today might not be the same as the person doing all the damage yesterday and today's editor had not yet received a warning. Just after I posted that warning I got involved with the IP from the template vandalizing that we were talking about earlier today - who was making a mess of numerous articles. Buy the time we got that one blocked I had to go offline and forgot all about this other one. I hope that explains some of what went on and I apologize if it doesn't make sense for you. Thanks for your vigilance in protecting wikiarticles. MarnetteD | Talk 20:31, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Hasty reverts

Hi, I noticed that in some of your edits you seem to be a little hasty in reverting. It seems like you consider any unreferenced information to be OR, which is not really how that policy works. (For example, on Coat of arms of Mexico, Dresden Airport, and List of MCA Records artists) Before jumping to a revert, it might be better to do a quick Google search to see if it might be correct, and maybe even add a reference yourself. Please think about WP:BITE. Toohool (talk) 19:38, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Thank you, I will in the future. I will also read OR as well. M D Potter. Any comments? 19:55, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Talk page message

Your templated message seems a bit condescenting (especially considering that I have been using Wikipedia longer than you). In addition, instead of giving me advice on what I already know, why don't you warn the user yourself if you believe he deserves it? - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:32, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

WOW

Thanx for your comment. You noticed it almost as quickly as I did & I was trying to figure out what I did & how to correct it when I got your message. I'm still feeling my way around on some things, like trying to start a new article rather than editing one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GWFrog (talkcontribs) 20:37, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you type Stuart Hogg in the search engine, you haven't a link towards Stuart Hogg (rugby player). Please can you fix? --87.220.96.44 (talk) 13:02, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

There is a link, in fact. Kiko4564 (talk) 13:04, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Carrington

I just restored the image. What's bad with that. Now the image is GONE.--188.4.211.233 (talk) 17:28, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I was a bit hasty considering you did remove the image before undoing your own revision. Kiko4564 (talk) 17:33, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Jihad

Relax, "derka derka Muhammed Jihad" isn't a real Arabic phrase: it's a quote from Team America, a movie that satirises both the Islamists and American hawks. Even if i was a real terrorist, why would i proclaim my views on wikipedia?

Just disregard that because I have already reverted my self Kiko4564 (talk) 19:06, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

User name policy

Why did you add a notice to User talk:南アジア complaining that the user name uses non-Latin characters? Per WP:UN#Usernames with non-Latin characters, that is no problem. Did you mean to complain about WP:UNCONF since the user name identifies a geographical location? --Stefan2 (talk) 22:32, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

No, it's that I interpreted it as confusing. Kiko4564 (talk) 18:10, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Rollback request

Hi. I've made comments on your request at the board and would urge you to follow my recommendations there. Best wishes. Pedro :  Chat  21:19, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Keeping non-copyvio listed as copyvio

Why not remove it from the list? It was included due to a slapp happy bot tagging the article within the first minute of creation; it's a species stub that included information from the genus or family article; the editor probably just made a mistake by posting instead of previewing; it contained a single sentence of text; and keeping it listed there means that other editors will see the copyvio and investigate it.

Well, that's a good use of time; having articles improperly tagged to begin with due to fast bot action, then maintaining the bad tagging so that editors to the article will see the copyvio and spend time investigating it.

It's always about keeping the community busy, never about improving the encyclopedia. What a waste of my time. As usual. 68.107.135.146 (talk) 18:53, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Although I appreciate you didn't call my removal vandalism--that's a first! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.107.135.146 (talk) 18:53, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Strange Ref Desk edit

Hi -- I'm unable to see any sufficient justification for this HG edit, and have undone it. Just letting you know. Regards, Looie496 (talk) 17:47, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Yolanda Barcina

Kiko, I don't undestand why you reverted my edition Yolanda Barcina's article. The image that I have added is completely valid. So, from now on, I hope that you do not return to accuse me of vandalizar anything. Thank you and greeting. 83.50.3.103 (talk) 18:00, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the talk page revert! RA0808 talkcontribs 20:01, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome. Does that count as beating cluebot to it (jkjk) Kiko4564 (talk) 20:02, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I noticed the message you recently left to Polandbelarus. Please remember not to bite the newcomers. If you see someone make a common mistake, try to politely point out what they did wrong and how to correct it. Thank you. Actually my suggestion is regarding the message that you did not leave to Polandbelarus. There was no edit summary that explained what was wrong. I think this new editor can make helpful contributions, so let's help by giving explanations. Thanks. --S. Rich (talk) 20:36, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

OK, I will in the future. Kiko4564 (talk) 20:40, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Edit removed

I have tagged the image for speedy deletion using {{db-author}} Kiko4564 (talk) 20:58, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

THANK YOU!!!

Your AIV report

This user does not appear to be vandalizing. The IP traces to MSU; it looks like the user just forgot to log in. What about their contributions makes you think this is vandalism? --Chris (talk) 21:42, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Their contributions are spamming the same thing onto loads of talk pages Kiko4564 (talk) 21:45, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Please STOP reverting this user. They're obviously not a vandal (and it's not spam, either—read the message, it's clearly in good faith) and your reverts are far more disruptive than anything they're doing. Please stop, and self-revert your reverts. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:47, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
OK. If there's any reverts that I've missed, you have my permission to go right ahead and revert them. Kiko4564 (talk) 21:56, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Mistaken warnings

If you are unfamiliar with the way that category sorting works, please have a look at WP:CAT which says "Use a space as the sort key for an article matching an eponymous category". Reverting my edits and giving me warnings for following this guideline is inappropriate. 148.177.1.210 (talk) 22:15, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Excuse me?

Vandalism?

Those sentences I deleted contain a nationalist edit-war (Persian vs Kurdish vs Azeri) arguing over his origins. The introduction already establishing that he was Persian (or, at least, that he wrote in Persian), so the arguing over the demographics is out of place. GAYousefSaanei (talk) 22:15, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, it's that the edits removed a lot of sourced information and no summary was provided. Kiko4564 (talk) 22:29, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I did provide a summary. Read it. Please keep your accusations of "vandalism" to yourself in the future. GAYousefSaanei (talk) 22:57, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for butting in (your edits triggered huggle's edit filter), but GAYousefSaanei please assume good faith of Kiko, he's only trying to help Wikipedia out and it doesn't help when you make comments like that. If you followed AGF then the website would be a whole lot nicer place to be. Cheers --andy4789 · (talk? contribs?) 23:04, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Why are you addressing me? He didn't Assume Good Faith to begin with, and called me a vandal. Then said "no summary was provided", when it was. An apology wouldn't go astray. GAYousefSaanei (talk) 00:20, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
