- I think PMDrive meant it as an apology, but I've gone ahead and removed it. ...so, yeah. Kylu (talk) 22:46, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Thanks to this little incident, I've been branded as a bully and as a stalker. Sheesh. Some things aren't worth the trouble and this kid (I assume that's what he is based on his reactions) is one of those things. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 22:51, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Feces occur, y'know? As long as you know that you tried to do the right thing, don't let it bother you. Kylu (talk) 23:01, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. You are far too kind. I don't come here to cause trouble. When I was "Lucky 6.9," I had six features to my credit and a number of problematic users under my tutelage. I would give you a cookie in gratitude, but I'd hate like hell for you to get the wrong idea. :) Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:07, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LOL! I never thought of that! I, on the other hand, am extremely weary of this whole business, at least one established user is convinced that I'm some intolerant bully and my Sunday is waning fast. See you all later. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:37, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why has no-one ever called me God before? Kylu gets all the luck :-P Why aren't you so lucky anymore, PMDrive? --Kim Bruning (talk) 01:24, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, we divinities got sick of the whole being-prayed-to-for-idiotic-things, half-arsed sacrifices, mortals constantly digging at our true names, and general disrespect for our position, so ... you guessed it, we came to Wikipedia to edit. Sadly I've been found out... Kylu (talk) 01:55, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the offer but no, I do not want that redirect's history. I'll pull it out of the deleted-history myself if that ever becomes necessary.
I agree that the project is better off without that redirect but I do not think that you deleted it for the right reason. The "implausible typo" criterion for redirects only applies to redirects which were created as redirects, not to redirects created as a result of the pagemove process. The limitation is clear if you look at the discussion at WT:CSD around the time that new criterion was proposed.
This particular redirect was involved in a pagemove. The initial version of the page was deletable as a POV-fork (and since there were no substantive edits afterward, the subsequent versions inherited that deletion justification) but the "implausible typo" criterion should not have been used. The CSD process was approved by the community with the understanding that we admins would apply them only according to the strict and narrow definitions. When we stretch the CSD definitions, we are eroding the confidence that our community has in the core principles of consensus editing.
I apologize if I'm coming off as preachy. That is not my intent. I just feel very strongly that in the long term, how we do things here at Wikipedia will be as important as what we do here - and maybe more important...
Thanks for listening. Rossami (talk) 23:55, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm aware of Wikipedia:Process is important. It's an essay. Wikipedia:Ignore All Rules is policy, as is Wikipedia:Not. If you think that deleting a "POV-fork" redirect with no encyclopedic value (it's in the mainspace, remember, and we're to be picky about what we leave there for our readers) is going to destroy the project, I'd rather prefer to agree to disagree: I would prefer to not be repeatedly told I'm incorrect in the hopes that it will change my mind. Alternatively, I'm WP:0WW (not a wheel warrior), so feel free to go dig it out of deletion and send it through DRV like the two redirects above. Or just undelete it and let it sit. Or RfD it. I'm really, seriously, unconcerned about it at this point. Kylu (talk) 23:34, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- You are misunderstanding my concern. I do not think that your deletion of that page was in error. The project is definitely better off without that page. My concern was about the wording that you used when you explained the deletion. But I don't know how to express myself any better than I already have above. It is not my intention to argue and I also have no intention to wheelwar. Let me think on this for a while and maybe I will be able to express myself more clearly in a few days. Thanks for your patience. Rossami (talk) 03:30, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to change the fair use rationale for an image (this one, I have no idea how to inline-link the image without actually posting it). It gives a fair use rationale for use in an article it's not in anymore...it got moved. I can't seem to figure out how to change that. Can you help? - Click "edit" for the summary section, change Article= from "Other villains in Sonic the Hedgehog (games)" to "List of recurring characters from Sonic the Hedgehog (games)". I've already done this, though. Kylu (talk) 18:56, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kylu,
After the image copyright issue of UOC student I supposed to accelerate with Wikipedia image uploading process. So can we make a redirection to like this[1]process page when clicking upload file link. (Still it is not totally translated in to Sinhala). So we can abele to filter, discourage unnecessary uploads. By the way I have localized Mediawiki editing tool bar icons. Here is link[2] which I have uploaded my labs’ wiki. I looking comments from you.

Honestly, the big problem is the malware site links in the edit summaries. I've tried adding those to the spam blacklist, but it doesn't seem to work. Is this because the explanation field for a page move isn't considered an "edit summary"? If so, can this be fixed? This would take care of most of the issue for me. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 19:58, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kylu, I want your opinion on whether to allow or not creation fo the pages, sontaining solely material from another website which allows to copy the material on the condition to acknowldge the source. I am against that. There is a user on gu.wiki, who is creating an article on how to write Gujarati Script, but what he is doing is just copying images from another free website and pasting them on the page, that's all. My suggestion to that person was to create articles with moral material, and where needed the material form other website shoudl only eb used as a resource. But he has ignored it and creating new pages after I deleted one. Before I give him warning, I wanted to know your view and what exactly is the Wiki's policy on such creation of pages. PLease have a look at gu:Learning_Gujarati_Script and advise. Please even go through our discussion here-- DhavalTalk 09:23, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- "You may freely copy these lessons on to your web site , for non commercial uses, add sound files or modify them in any way you want - but please do mention Ukindia in them" is incompatible with the GFDL that Wikipedia is published under, as we require that the material be usable for commercial purposes (such as our commercial mirror sites.) If you can get Ukindia to add another license (preferably GFDL 2.0 or better) to the material, Wikipedia can use the material. Attribution isn't a problem, however, as long as the copy-pasting editor mentions the source. I would probably suggest making a html-commented note on the page as well as adding the mention in the edit summary, so the attribution is in the edit history. Sadly, my Gujarati isn't as good as my Devnagali or Sinhalese, so I can't read much more. Kylu (talk) 17:14, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kylu,
After doing quick survey,I have found and listed some Unencyclopedic, meaningless name spaces and to be redirect articles in Sinhala Wikipedia. And also found one naughty IP address which is added unusual contents to Sinhala Wikipedia :) So I can manage redirections and disambiguate articles in my best. So can you kindly consider listed articles which are To be Delete. My Work House @ Sinhala Wikipedia

I'm not sure if this was directed at me, but if it was you should note that I in fact stated on IRC that I strongly disagree with his actions noted at that ANI report. — neuro(talk) 04:24, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Nope, it was "directed" at anyone who would try to canvass support on IRC. While IRC is (IMO) a useful tool, it's far too easy to abuse in this way. I think the question you're actually wondering is, though, "Is it my action on IRC that caused you to state this on ANI?" The answer is, no, it was someone else's action. HTH HAND TTFN. Hi Kylu. There now is a request at DRV to create a disambiguation page at Adult-child sex. You protected the page back on 27 January 2008. It would help that discussion to know the reasoning behind your protection of that page (e.g. for any and all purposes or was it only in furtherance of enforcing the DRV decision). Please consider commenting at DRV. Thanks. -- Suntag ☼ 01:26, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How do you characterise a supposedly automated edit which removes:
"Often he introduces himself as "Paul Ro, bottomfeeder; drug dealing low-life.""
as to a bio?
do you have any reference for that?
or a address for service?
maybe i just miss something, but i have been keeping a screenshot and file print of everything i have written so far..

- I'd characterize it as a "good edit". That sort of information, even if accurate, needs to be backed up by reliable sources before it's added to a biography. See also our biographies of living persons policy. Thanks for your concern. Kylu (talk) 03:48, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for correcting my mistake on that page. Would you agree that a redirect to the authors page would be a better redirect than the redirect to just the page about the first series in the complete saga?
It appears from the discussion on the authors page that an article on The Riftwar Cycle is in the works, but not yet published. So just asking for that page to be deleted might not be a good idea.
Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Hello, I would like to know what I should do with respect to IsraelXKV8R's repeated removal of the section I added to the Dead Sea Scrolls article, dealing with an important ongoing controversy involving the Scrolls in which he happens to be involved.
I understand that if I continue to put the section back in, I will be blocked, and if he keeps removing the section, he will be blocked.
I have tried discussing the matter with him, but he simply repeats his claims (which are not true) that I'm connected with some sockpuppet thing here at NYU apparently dating from two years ago and that the section is "tangential."
Therefore, it seems to me that he is simply exercising a veto over my section, because if I put it back in he will immediately take it out and then we will be blocked, which seems to be all very fine with him as long as the section isn't in the article, because he instantly removes it as soon as I put it back in.
I wish to protest against this outright nullification of the section I wrote, by a single individual who is involved in this controversy. By this token, no information about a controversy can be included in a wikipedia article, because someone involved can always simply remove it over and over again.
I would like to know if the section I added can be included in the article and blocked, which would at least oblige IsraelXKV8R to have a civil discussion of the section's contents and of its claimed "tangential" nature. I am not an irrational person; if he is right he should be able to convince me and others, or at least come to a compromise about how the section should read (rather than tyrannically eliminating it altogether as he keeps doing).
This is very frustrating for me, as I added this section in good faith and tried to write it in a proper way, without "promoting" anyone's views. I don't see how anyone can be allowed to simply remove information of this sort without any rational discussion of its contents. If IsraelXKV8R isn't happy with the section, he should suggest changes to make, rather than remove what I've written without any further ado.

Hi there Kylu. Do you think you can lift the full protection of Latino? You protected it for an edit war about a week and a half ago; it should probably have died off by now. NuclearWarfare (Talk) 17:47, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Protection removed, thanks for reminding me. Sadly, I doubt that editing issues there have gone away. I can't quite think of any solutions that would prevent the insertion of future bias, however. Kylu (talk) 20:22, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, I'm just trying to get a current feel for who is still active in the project and if anybody would object to cleaning out inactive users of the verified user list. Thank you for your time. Q T C 03:36, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Go ahead and remove it. I'll be on wikibreak until after graduation, at least. This goes for any other projects with lists of users involved: Feel free to remove my username. Kylu (talk) 10:39, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Kylu,
I hope you're back from your wikibreak soon :) Your thoughtful input would be welcome here: Community Facilitation - user:Sam and I were discussing related ideas over the past few weeks. It's meant to be a totally open way for people interested in facilitation to join and help organize and improve discussion of [often long-term] issues... which currently get brought up briefly and lost many times in succession.
Cheers, +sj+ 02:11, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- As far as the wikibreak goes: Not a chance. I've got quite a bit of time before I can really return. (Helping someone with a minor issue atm, only reason I'm about.)
- Thanks for the request, but I'm really trying to avoid enwp for the time being. Frankly, in the contest between my real life and Wikipedia, WP doesn't stand a chance, and at the moment I've got far too many things I have to manage elsewhere.
- I do hope you have good luck with this community facilitation project, though! Kylu (talk) 04:08, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- And deleted. Don't care. Kylu (talk) 01:13, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Inajira until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Neelix (talk) 15:33, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
