Your edits

[edit]

Hello. I want to bring to your attention that some of your edits have been disruptive. For example, on this edit, you remove a bracket that causes the Infobox on the article to be deleted. You do the same thing on this edit, too. Please use the "Show Preview" feature before saving your changes so you can see how they impact the article.

I'm going to assume good faith and presume these edits aren't done maliciously. But please try to be careful going forward, as other editors could see this type of editing as vandalism. --My Pants Metal (talk) 15:22, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Blue shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Not adhering to neutral point of view on Whoopi Goldberg

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm KyleJoan. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Whoopi Goldberg seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. KyleJoantalk 02:30, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm MorsellO9Q Thank you for bringing to my attention that my edit lacked a neutral point of view. Do you have a suggestion for how I should adjust the language so that it is more neutral and encyclopedic? Morsell09Q (talk) 14:46, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about the language of the material. It's the material itself. You seem to be intent on inserting the term "erasive antisemitisim" on the article regardless of whether reliable sources widely use it in relation to Goldberg's comment. This is inappropriate. Please discuss on Talk:Whoopi Goldberg when you find more sources. KyleJoantalk 18:52, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon It may not have been your intention, but one of your edits, specifically one that you made on Antisemitism, may have been a change that some consider controversial. Due to this, your edits may have been reverted. When making possibly controversial changes, it is good practice to first discuss your edit on the article's talk page before making it, to gain consensus over whether or not to include the text, phrasing, etc. If you believe that the information you added was correct, please initiate that discussion. Thank you. Iskandar323 (talk) 10:20, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding content based on a single opinion piece you've read. Opinion pieces are not reliable sources. Please read WP:RS and better familiarize yourself with what is expected of sources. Iskandar323 (talk) 10:42, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for bringing to my attention that my edit was controversial. Do you have a suggestion for how I should adjust the language so that it is less controversial? Morsell09Q (talk) 14:47, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First off, I would suggest focusing on the secondary literature on the subject, not the opinion piece of the chap credited with the term, unless you want to specifically describe his opinions and attribute them to him him in the text. For statements in wikivoice, use secondary sources. Another way you could develop this material would be to look at the erasive antisemitism page itself, which is currently quite underdeveloped. Edit warring on Whoopi Goldberg

[edit]

Information icon Hi Morsell09Q! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Whoopi Goldberg several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Whoopi Goldberg, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. KyleJoantalk 18:52, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
