Biographical article with no reference sources
Thanks for contributing new article Sayo Inaba. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. DAJF (talk) 03:57, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

These are just the ones that people have come to your user talk page to tell you about, the notices for which I've condensed here.
These are not automated messages, even though they give the appearance of being. These are actual human beings telling you that they have problems with what you are writing, and how you are writing it. You've been pointed to our Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and Wikipedia:Verifiability policies, and to the Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Notability (people) guidelines several times over. There's been no response from you, not even one edit to your talk page, nor any appreciable change in your editing. You haven't even corrected the errors that you are consistently making in using external links instead of internal links in your wikitext, that (as can be seen above) you were helpfully told about four months ago.
Consider this a wakeup call. Wakey wakey! Please change your editing habits so that you use the correct markup. And please create biographies of living persons properly, with biographical sources in hand and with those sources cited in the article as of their very first edits. At the moment, you are being a net drain to the project, as numerous other editors are having to scurry around tidying up after you, finding and checking sources, and in general devoting their time to address your writing, which apparently comprises in large part making biographies badly, something that Wikipedians are particularly concerned about. You're making a lot of people unhappy, and are wholly unresponsive to concerns, even simple ones like getting the wiki markup right. That won't lead anywhere good, I assure you from long experience. Because when it comes down to a discussion of whether you should be ejected from the project, which is where this road has eventually led for many before you, all of the unhappy people will remember how unhappy you've been making them, and (irrespective of how fair it might be) will support your ejection merely so that they can reclaim their time back from working to tidy up after you. You're working with other people, here, on a collaboratively written project. Remember that.
Uncle G (talk) 14:20, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Although it's good that you've finally responded to another editor, your reply to Uncle G's advice is disappointing. It comes across as rude, sarcastic and uncooperative. As Uncle G said, Wikipedia is a collaborative project. This means we expect all editors - no exceptions - to take notice of problems that are brought to their attention and respond in a polite, positive way. I can understand why you might be annoyed that your work keeps being removed, but you've had plenty of chances to change that by following up the links in the messages you've received, reading up on our editing policies and guidelines, and even asking for assistance.
- Wikipedia is a private website and I'm afraid we can tell you what to do if your editing isn't in line with our core site policies. What we hope is that you will learn from this and change your approach to fit in with the way Wikipedia works, becoming a valuable member of our editing community. The alternative is that you carry on as you are, in which case it's likely that very soon an administrator will block your account. EyeSerenetalk 17:12, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Message added 07:59, 23 July 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Hi again. If you've looked at the discussion at the Administrators' notice board, you'll see the main concern is the inappropriate articles you keep creating. Most of us, especially when we were new, have done the same thing - the important thing is to learn from it and not keep repeating the same mistake.
One strategy you could try is to put together your article ideas somewhere more private first, like your user space. You could set yourself up a work space (or 'sandbox' as many editors call it), maybe at User:Mrluke485/sandbox, and use it to draft your articles. You could then ask other editors what they think and if they can suggest any improvements. This would allow you to get the article into decent shape before posting it into the main encyclopedia space (or mainspace). It would be much less likely to get deleted then. The only thing you'll have to worry about is that your article subjects are notable, which doesn't mean famous or important but means that they've had enough written about them by reliable sources so that you can write a properly sourced article. This is massively important for living people.
Hope this helps, EyeSerenetalk 12:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
The article Prism Leisure Corporation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable organisation. No evidence it meets WP:ORG.

Nomination of An Unearthly Child (pilot episode) for deletion
A discussion has begun about whether the article An Unearthly Child (pilot episode), which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/An Unearthly Child (pilot episode) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. — Edokter • Talk • 14:27, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Witloof Bay
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on Witloof Bay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Lavalamp from Mars (talk) 10:59, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Mark Caso
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mark Caso requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ravendrop 02:32, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Nomination of Mark Caso for deletion

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. WuhWuzDat 18:09, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

The article Curt-Eric Holmquist has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

Addition of content that is unsourced
Thank you for your contributions to Eurovision Song Contest articles. I have noticed that you are adding a lot of content to articles which is unsourced. Please review the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy which requires that content that is challenged or is likely to be challenged be sourced to reliable sources. This is more important for content related to living people, such as your additions related to commentators and spokespersons; please read the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, which applies to all articles, including Eurovision ones. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:A-Ba-Ni-BiEurovision1978.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:A-Ba-Ni-BiEurovision1978.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 19:01, 18 May 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 19:01, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject Eurovision: Recent changes
Hello,
Please note that there have been some changes to operations surrounding Eurovision articles, these being that:
- Template names have now been standardised, for example Template:Countries in the Eurovision Song Contest and Template:Countries in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest have both been moved in order to be consistent. If you are planning to create a new template, please keep the standardised titles in mind.
{{WikiProject Eurovision}}
now accepts importance ratings as well as quality ratings, and the project now has a formal assessment department which gives details on how to assess articles, and provides a place for contributors to request re-assessment. Feel free to add the{{WikiProject Eurovision}}
template to the talk page of any new Eurovision articles you create.- The Eurovision Song Contest now has its own stub template at
{{Eurovision-stub}}
. Please only use this on Eurovision Song Contest stubs, with{{Music-stub}}
and{{Dance-stub}}
being the appropriate template for other Eruovision contests.
If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision.

Alteration of Finnish Television details on various Eurovision articles
Hi Mrluke, I write with concern over the various alterations you are making with regards to Finnish Television broadcasting on a number of Eurovision Song Contest articles. It appears that the details are being sourced from a blog and not a reliable website, which is very vital per citing sources; verifiability; and identifying reliable sources. May I suggest that you find more reliable sources before continue altering the details, as a precaution. Thanks - Wesley☀Mouse 17:04, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- Even though you have obtained the information privately from a fan, it is going against no original research. Therefore the information cannot be used, sorry! As a result, all those alteration may need to be reverted back, until reliable details can be found. Wesley☀Mouse 17:15, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- You could always check other reliable websites such as the national broadcaster itself, or Eurovision.tv. There is a list of reliable sources at the WP:ESC page. We will need to revert all those changes you've made now, as they contain original research. Wesley☀Mouse 17:24, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
I have noticed that you've submitted a complaint against me at User_talk:CT_Cooper#Update_on_Finnish_broadcast_for_Eurovision. It would have been polite to have also informed myself of this, nevertheless, I have posted a response in regards, and provided CT Cooper with full dialogue of our conversations regarding the original research emails that you used as "sourced information". Sourcing
Please ensure that the content you add to articles is cited from sources which are a) published and b) reliable. Since e-mails are not published, and forums and blogs are not reliable, none of these should be used as sources. Remember that most of the content you are adding concerns living people where the rules are stricter and more strictly enforced, for example self-published material is blanket banned for material about living people. While I thank you for your efforts with content, please give priority to verifiability over completeness. CT Cooper · talk 19:35, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

- You're very welcome, and no need for the apology, even though I gratefully appreciated it. We all can make mistakes from time to time, nobody is perfect - mistakes are part of living, and what helps us to improve our understanding of life. Please, feel free to contact myself or CT Cooper though if every you have a doubt and/or question about anything. It is better to seek understanding and get things right, rather than jump in feet first and face the possibility of being wrong. Anyhow, with regards to your question; I am not 100% certain myself when it comes to books being used as a source; especially when we are dealing with information on living people. A book is a solid item, and cannot easily be
- I've found some help pages about citing from books.
- Upon reading them, they don't seem to promote the idea of using books, especially when it concerns adding factual material about living people. As there is doubt, I'd say leave that information out, until we can find a reliable website that provides the same information. Wesley☀Mouse 21:10, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- I've also found this
{{citebook}}
. Looking at that, we can cite books, as long as we include details of the book being used. Wesley☀Mouse 21:25, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

MrLuke, I have found a website that is reliable and contains details on commentators, spokespersons etc for all the Eurovision Contests. This should help you with your project of adding those details to articles. IMDb - Eurovision 1956-2012 Cast and Crew Wesley☀Mouse 19:19, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, but just to be on the safe side several wikipedia users have critised imdb in the past, saying imdb is not clearly reliable as people can add infomation to it, on the other hand imdb is strict on people's births when they are added to imdb and that the character would be required a reliable source for their year of birth.

- I may have to disagree on the unreliability views about IMDb website. The information on there can only be edited by staff that work on the website. The general public can create a profile, but only for the purpose of posting comments to the message boards. The details on IMDb are also sourced within themselves, which is an indication that they take things seriously, and won't allow false information to be added - besides, some of the older ESC articles have IMDb reflinked for commentators too. Wesley☀Mouse 17:30, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, mind if I ask what does it mean by citation needed, please

- PS - I have found a german Archive website for Eurovision, could that be usefull for some of the German commentators.

- A citation is the reference websites we use as sources. So if something says "citation needed" then it is a little self-explanatory really - a citation is required for that part to help verify the information. What is the name of this German archive website you speak of? I'd like to double-check it first, before you start using it as a source, just in case it isn't permitted. - Hi, this is the website http://www.ecgermany.de/. Mrluke485 · talk 17:24, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- That should be fine, as long as you're not using sections from their forum pages. Remember, if it looks like a forum, then avoid using it as a source. Wesley☀Mouse 17:28, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Easier way to add sourced reference links
Greetings Mrluke, I do hope you are well today. I came across a useful tool to use for adding sourced reference links easier and neater too. The page Wikipedia:RefToolbar, provides more information on how it is used. I started to use the toolbar myself yesterday, and found it by far easier to add sources to articles. Have a look at the article and see what you think. Wesley☀Mouse 18:42, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Eurovision Song Contest 2011, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. The source you used was for a forum website, which as you have been notified once before, are not permitted to be used as a citation as per WP:USERG. Wesley☀Mouse 23:50, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 14
Hi. When you recently edited Erkki Toivanen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Broadcaster (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
