If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Dutch Doll requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.thedutchdoll.finedon.org.uk. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Good morning. I have read the email you sent me, and prefer to reply over the Wikipedia talk interface. Re the draft article you sent me, it does not appear to be suitable for wikipedia for the following reasons. 1.) WP:NOTE - The notability of the article is questionable, do you have any external links/references that are Reliable Sources (written by somebody other than yourself?) that can show that this is notable? 2.) There may be a Conflict of InterestI - You claim that you were the writer of the article that was originally deleted as a WP:COPYVIO, using it as a reference, even if the article is rewritten to not be a copy paste is a problem. and finally 3.) It is written as an advertisement, specifically, I quote the last line "In 1981, the doll was stolen and to date has never been found. If you have any information please go to "<reference removed>" website." Wikipedia is designed to convey encyclopedic information, not to serve as a repository for articles on stolen/missing items with a link to where you can report them. You are welcome to create a draft that addresses these issues at User:Peter.Munton/draft and ask me to re-review it if you would like. I will say that, an initial glance leads me to believe that it may never meet wikipedias notability requirements for inclusion. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:29, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Let me make some changes to it, and then we can try it in the mainspace. I cannot guarantee that the notability will not be challenged, but we will give it a shot. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 17:25, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed the article up a bit, added a few references and moved it back to the mainspace at Dutch Doll of Finedon. If you are interested in an opportunity to have this article featured on the WP:MAINPAGE in the Did You Know section, you can work on expanding it a bit (DYK articles must be at least 1500 characters, and this article is ~1100 characters). Let me know if you are interested in pursuing this, and I can help you out. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 18:13, 29 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving Message on Talk Pages

[edit]

Thank you for your email, I am glad that I could help you with the article. Re leaving message on talk pages, it is different than sending an email. Leaving a message on a talk page is very similar to adding content to an article. If you would like to try it, you can go to User talk:Chrislk02. At the top of the page there should be a button that says something like 'new section (if you cannot find this, you can click the edit button and write what you want at the end of the bottom of the page). One difference when writing on a talk page is signing your posts WP:SIGN which you do by ending your post with 4 tildes (the ~ character). When you save the post, it will automatically convert it to a signature with a link to your user page. Hope this helps. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 12:20, 30 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I replied to your message on my talk page, as a courtesy, I am also leaving you a note here. In general though, I will reply on the same page you left the message on (e.g. User talk:chrislk02. (A quick way to keep up if somebody has replied is to add the page to the your watch list (there should also be a button at the top of the page to do that)). I hope you find ways to get involved in this project, it is something I have been involved with now for over 9 years! If you are interested, you can set up a simple user page with information about yourself, some of your interests and the like. As usual, please don't hesitate to contact me if I can help you out. I note that the webmaster of the church website has the same name as your user name. If you own the copyright of the text, please see above for how to allow it to be used in Wikipedia - though in this case the text is inappropriate, with its "this church of ours" etc. You might do better to let this article be deleted, then start a new article in which you write an independent piece of text geared better to the readers of an international encyclopedia, perhaps citing the church website as a reference (but better citing some authoritative source such as Pevsner's architectural guide to the county, etc), and linking to other relevant articles like Finedon. As a start you could use, and cite, the listed building record:
Historic England. "Church of St Mary the Virgin (1371745)". National Heritage List for England. Retrieved 8 September 2016.
(you can use a template for that: {{NHLE|num=1371745|desc=Church of St Mary the Virgin|accessdate=8 September 2016}}) PamD 22:57, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
