Your feedback, please
[edit]Dear Red Director, a few weeks ago I submitted the draft page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:MaaS_Global to the AfC process. Now I was wondering if you could shed any light on how likely it is going to be reviewed - and hopefully approved - any time soon? In your view, is there anything about the draft at the moment that could trigger rejection? Is there anything I can do to improve it and increase the likelihood of a swift approval? Many thanks, Jos Schuurmans (talk) 09:16, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Red Director,
The thing is, I know how to make a post, but i don know how to read one. (Particularly when other people post comments under other people's posts. That always makes things really confusing to read and I always end up getting dizzy.) Also, sometimes when I read people's User Talk posts I get confused because I feel like there are parts of the conversation missing. Thanks again for your help

[edit]Hi im a user who has experience with the page you're referring to on slavery in africa, if you are to make use of the sentence "Arab slave trade and Trans-atlantic slave trade it would be more contructive to use place names that are within reference such as Arabic, African, and European in order to balance the attention of the reader, the intention to use a period not associated with the cause with one and not apply to other averagely implies the need to bring attention to every country except the ones primarily involved based on a matter of fact. i.e the arabic slave is of course one of the most gravitational and dentrimental to the understanding of periods of slavery as well as the european slave trade to say trans-atlantic and middle eastern would be more constructive as the arabic slave trade is a name cited on supposition and not proven history as middle eastern cultures do not approve of the word Arab being labeled as the primary cause when it is now a modern term. same way we use phoenicians instead of mediterranean.

Help!
[edit]Hello!
You might no remember but you welcome me a few months back when I created the account. We are the archivists at Lombard Odier, a fairly old Swiss bank, and we were tasked with taking the corresponding article out of its current sorry state (here is the new draft).
We thought we’d done everything by the book, but the gentleman who kindly answered our requests has responded with increasingly complicated demands, so much so that progress has stalled. He suggested we see directly with the WikiProject Switzerland, but although someone edited our submission I think they’re wary of going against someone else’s “decision” not to implement it, so the work of many if stuck by one.
To be clear, the very same text has been posted in other languages (French, Spanish, German, and Italian), with editors there helpfully pitching in/editing afterwards (German also implements gesichtete Versionen, so this text had to be reviewed by someone before appearing publicly). We're entirely fine with the article living its own life and being edited by anyone, we understand it and actually like the idea that people can research and improve content (we are big readers too!).
And then we found this thread which, for what it's worth, seems to explain part of our trouble with the initial reviewer. So here is the bottom line: we have a text that no one has objected to, has been reviewed several times with no negative comment as to its quality, we've jumped through all the hoops, yet we can't get it posted.
I am kind of losing hope here, so any help would be immensely welcome. Regards, Hello at LO (talk) 08:59, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Isleworth Mona Lisa
[edit]I'm concerned because the edit done by me on this page is continually reverted to an older version when the information presented is fact based on concrete documentation. My research on this painting commenced in 1978 and has continued up to this day. The serious problems facing such a work of art is complex. Firstly the attribution is flawed as the article itself (the part not written by me) where it states that there has been additions to the work thus any attribution to one artist is flawed. And during the Renaissance many works of art were dabbled upon by assistants and artists of that particular workshop. Therefore, logically, as I point out, this attribution is flawed and requires some serious reflection. And as I've followed the provenance of this painting for the last 40 odd years I've become the archivist of almost every document related to all passages of ownership, whom I've known personally since Dr. Henry Franz Pulitzer, and very familiar to all the different scientific analysis performed on the painting since 1976 and, unfortunately, exposed to all the ugliness of dispute over ownership deriving from the speculative nature of associating the work to Da Vinci driving man's cupidity to act in very unscrupulous manners. I've unfortunately become the hub for all information on the Isleworth Mona Lisa where the past and present owners have involved me because of the vast knowledge of which I'm the guardian. I've collected over 900 documents, have many of the litigation case files from lawyers. I have written three volumes on the provenance - two historical fiction books. I've also collated press articles from the beginning of the 20th century to present day on the Mona Lisa theme creating a book and finally my research on the Isleworth painting. There are two revisions of the first manuscript where the last is dated 2010. all of these are in the public domain at the University state of Vaud Library in Dorigny, Lausanne Switzerland as stated in the edit made on this entry prior to it being removed. And the reason these books have not been published is for my personal protection and fear of litigation from those still embroiled in the conflict of ownership, where I wish to remain neutral but not silent until at some time this meritorious work of art is part of a public collection and removed from private collectors whose ambitions are restricted to capital gain with little interest in the meaning and historical attributes of such a deserving work. In August of 2019 there are a number of on-line newspaper articles on the debacle and dispute over ownership of the Isleworth Mona Lisa confirming the stand I've chosen in regards to publish any of my books. Therefore the information I've present is polite, compared to the harshness of the unlawful acts committed, and will also help to serve and protect anyone wishing to become involved with this painting illustrating that there are real harmful consequences, because this is the truth where my 40 years of experience is unequivocal constatation. Dear Red Director,
I'm Lamonte McLemore of The 5th Dimension's official biographer, I co-wrote his memoir. I revamped his page appropriately this weekend as it was full of inaccuracies and sorely missing key information. You reverted all of my hard work back to the unsuitable page. Mr. McLemore is not pleased. I could not possibly find a way to log in after many tries, pre-editing. I have saved what I had edited. Surely Mr. McLemore deserves a classy and accurate page. If certain key symbols <> were missing to highlight songs or other things, I would expect them to be enhanced. But to undo everything is not a good thing for his legacy. Thanks. --Robert-Allan Arno
Lamonte McLemore
[edit]Red Director:
I'm the official biographer of LaMonte (Lamonte) McLemore of The 5th Dimension, I co-wrote his memoir. Although I had continual difficulty logging in, this weekend I appropriately--per his request--revamped Mr. McLemore's page with accuracies that are not present in the current page, which is also sorely missing key information. It seems you undid the whole thing, which we took great time to revamp. We are not pleased; the 6-time Grammy winner deserves an accurate and more substantive page. Let me know how we can work this out, I have saved the changes, thankfully. Thanks. Robert-Allan Arno

I came across him as a distraction whilst trying to write another article and got interested in his life, but must get back to my original subject! Strahan (Snow) was a member of a family that were involved with one of the oldest banks in the UK. He became an embezzler of very large sums and ended up being given a 15 year sentence and deportation, but this was commuted to 5 years in UK. There are a couple of webs sites. One a sort of blog [2] but it is very well researched and referenced so I have confidence in the story and this is backed up by an 1890 book on the Internet Archive [3]. [edit]Greetings Sir. I have a challenge I have been battling with for sometime now. There is a new user who is bent at changing a particular article to suit himself and the group he represents. I wrote a complaint on the article's talk page, but there had not been any response by anyone. Here it is Lere, Kaduna Talk Page: Article corruption. Please help us out. The user seems not to have a talk page and I don't think I would be the right person to challenge him because I wouldn't want something that would lead to insults and possible harassment. American football player short descriptions
[edit]May I ask why you are importing short descriptions on articles about American football players as "American football (position)" rather then simply "American football player"? It just confuses me as to why you would do this when on articles of footballers or other sportspeople, you would simply do "(Nationality) footballer". The article Dilaver Bey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable politician, mayor of a regional municipality; no citations; tagged for notability for over 9 years
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sorry for the template . A kitten for you!
[edit]Here is another kitten for you! Be sure to feed him 3 times a day. Take care!
Alicced (talk) 17:34, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
Alicced has kittynapped your kitten! The kitten made them happy and they'd like to give you an enormously massive hug for inadvertently donating it. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a kitten, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
Spread the goodness of kittens by adding {{subst:Kitten}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message, or kittynap a kitten with {{subst:Kittynap}}
Hey there!

Pedro Paulet
[edit]Hi! I'm reverting your changes to the short description on the Pedro Paulet article, and wanted to tell you why. I'm not sure if anyone will ever know the truth, but Paulet's claim of inventing liquid-fueled rocketry seems to run very close to fraud. I and others have searched for evidence to back up his claims, only to come up with a single article of dubious merit and provenance (along with a couple of derivative works based on it). If I knew of examples of Paulet's inventing anything, I wouldn't mind calling him that, but I can't. Based on the verifiable evidence, we probably shouldn't call him anything other than a diplomat. Cheers! — UncleBubba ( T @ C ) 12:04, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
- Not a problem at all! In fact, if you see anything else that needs modified down the road, feel free to make whatever changes are needed. Thanks for the information. Red Director (talk) 16:45, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
William Dickson (footballer born 1866)
[edit]Hello Red Director, The birth date and place for William Dickson the footballer born in 1866 are wrong. However there was a William Anderson Dickson born on 26 August 1866. William Alexander Dickson was actually born in Rattray illegitimately to Isabella McFarlane on 5 July 1866. All information can be found on the Scottish League website. Rugby league footballer short descriptions
[edit]Hello there, your bot is introducing a number of errors from wikidata into wikipedia. This centres around describing certain rugby league footballers as New Zealand. When they have played for another country, other than that of their birth, or nations in different tiers, it was deemed long ago not to give primacy to one nation over the other, hence I have changed a few of the problematical ones to simply "Professional rugby league footballer". I would appreciate it if you were to look at the bot, so not to introduce errors, that myself and others have, and are having to clean up. Many thanks in advance.Fleets (talk) 09:27, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Short descriptions
[edit]Hi again! I noticed You have been adding short descriptions en masse. You might want to consider doing this semi-automatically, or via User:ShortDescBot.
As a side note, please archive your talk page - it took over a minute to load for me. Thanks! ― Qwerfjkltalk 13:33, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Will look into archiving it. I responded on your talk page. Red Director (talk) 13:37, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- For archiving, I would suggest using User:Lowercase sigmabot III and not User:ClueBot III, as sigmabot will split old threads across archives, whereas cluebot will just create one large archive. You might find the page Help:Archiving and the templates {{subst:Setup auto archiving}} and {{subst:Setup cluebot archiving}} helpful. ― Qwerfjkltalk 13:49, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
