Advisor
I strongly oppose edits like this one, which do nothing important, and in addition change the header format from the Wikimedia default which does have spaces after and before the == sign. Debresser (talk) 21:15, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
- Ahem, @Debresser:, you've given the diff to someone else's edits. What is the Wikimedia default? I normally prefer keeping spaces on (like in this section), but most people use AWB and remove it. Advisor merely keeps it standard throughout the page. Hence, it is marked as a a minor edit. Also, what do you mean by 'Strongly Oppose? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 05:20, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Strange mistake of mine. The correct diff is of course this one.
- What do I mean by "Wikimedia default"? Well, if you'd please press "edit" to edit this section, you'll see the header as it was created when I pressed "new section". That means, the header as it was created not by me, but as a matter of Wikipedia/Wikimedia default. And, as you see, there are spaces before and after the name of the section.
- Removing these spaces, or adding them, is a rather useless thing to do. That would be true even if it means you are enforcing a standard. There even exists a rule, that one shouldn't use automated or semi-automated tools (like AWB) for such edits. Debresser (talk) 23:04, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Fine, whatever you say,. You have more edits than me.I shall assume you know more than me. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:23, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- P.S: It would be helpful if you could point me to this rule. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:25, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- Regarding AWB it is number 4 in the Rules of use section. Regarding bots it is found in the Cosmetic changes section. I have seen it mentioned as the main argument in a notable Wikipedia block of bot usage for a certain editor. Debresser (talk) 00:36, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Entropia universe
@Rsrikanth05:I would prefer if you did not remove something that I as a representative of one of the developers on Entropia Universe Platform added to our page as a means to help people find out more about us. If you can pinpoint what was wrong please do and I'll quickly sort it out but don't just undo officially added content without contacting us. Planet Arkadia (talk) 14:47, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Planet Arkadia:, I have removed the content for multiple reasons: Unambiguous advertising, violation of the external links policy. If you believe there is a mistake, please bring it up on the talk page of the article. As for the don't just undo part, please do not assume that you are the owner of the article, the article does not belong to anyone. As a representative of the developers, you might have a Conflict of interest, and thus you shouldn't be editing the article without a discussion its respective talk page. Also, the end of your message, without contacting us, should I perceive that as a legal threat? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:56, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
@Rsrikanth05: Regarding the matters of external links, I can completely understand that and humbly apologize for the misunderstanding that, I wish to point out the following. I understand completely that these pages don't belong to anyone but we wished to add more value to the information page about Entropia Universe due to the lack of information shared over the previous years. Regarding the conflict of interest, We are only contributing known facts about the game as we ourselves develop upon the platform. In no way have we even forwarded the fact or even moved towards the notion of perceiving any of our comments as a legal threat. This is a base line of an assumption which is neither true or in any other matter correct. We wanted to contribute to the page in a professional manner but everything was removed without notice or even the slightest explanation behind the reasoning of undoing, so we questioned the fact that a organisation as big as Wikipedia should have some form of a communication mechanism to notify the user of the undo with reason, but sadly there is none but a talk page. So forgive us if we were trying to assist in populating the page with relevant official information but due to these actions, we will not update anymore and leave it up to moderators such as yourself to do so in the future. Thank you for your time.Planet Arkadia (talk) 15:43, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Planet Arkadia: What does official information mean? If you can use reliable third party links, such as those listed at WP:RS, then you can add content. I'm not a moderator, merely an editor, just like you. You are free to add content, as long as it is neutral, verifiable, notable and is backed up by sources. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:53, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Edit on the Mary Robinson page
Hi, thank you for doing what you do so thoroughly by reviewing my edit. You undid my edit because you thought it was deconstructive; however, my intent was to eliminate redundancy in the article. In the paragraph directly before, the same quote is used from the same source and I feel it is unnecessary to repeat the same information in the subsequent paragraph. Thank you for your consideration. Elliottwilliams14 (talk) 19:55, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Elliottwilliams14

Hip hop
- Hello Rsrikanth05:
I think that the actual state of the Morocco section on Arabic hip hop entry needs a serious editing. But I dont know why you would leave a sentence that references a rapper who has barely lived in Morocco and most of his music is in Dutch and delete a contribution of a rapper who is well-established on the Moroccan music scene. It is just arbitrary so I would like to know the logic behind it. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marochiphop (talk • contribs) 19:34, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Redirects in templates
Hello.
Templates should generally avoid linking to redirects, because it makes it harder to navigate in the "What links here?" and "Recent changes" functions. DYK templates are not necessarily exempt from editing. For instance, it might have a link whose target later becomes a dab page.
Likewise, communication between editors in edit summaries should be avoided.
Regards
HandsomeFella (talk) 14:26, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- Sure, whatever. I don't get the point. The template was locked THREE years ago! --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:34, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
As I mentioned, a target of a link might turn into a redirect, or a dab page, anytime, including three, five or even twenty years from now, and thus there could be a point in editing it – although, of course, no other edits should be made.
Thanks and regards
HandsomeFella (talk) 14:45, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- If no other edits are to be made, then what was the point of making that edit in the first place. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:12, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- As I said, it complicates navigation. HandsomeFella (talk) 15:16, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I hope you realise that an archived discussion is NOT going to complicate navigation even a 100 years from now. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:17, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- As I said, it complicates navigation. HandsomeFella (talk) 15:16, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Calling all WikiProject X members!
Hello fellow member! WikiProject X needs your help!
We studied the various needs that WikiProjects have, and have come up with some ideas for our first round of WikiProject tool development. These include:
- An automatically updated WikiProject directory that surfaces WikiProject-related metrics and automatically generates a list of active participants and potential members;
- A lightweight, optional alternative to WikiProject banners, featuring an option to quickly send a message to the named WikiProjects;
- A tool that bootstraps WikiProjects; and
- A worklist generation script for WikiProjects
We are now looking for volunteer coders to work on these projects. If you are interested in developing these tools, or if you would to volunteer for other tasks, check out our new volunteers portal. Thank you for your help!

WikiProject X Newsletter • Issue 3
Greetings! For this month's issue...
We have demos!
After a lengthy research and design process, we decided for WikiProject X to focus on two things:
- A WikiProject workflow that focuses on action items: discussions you can participate in and tasks you can perform to improve the encyclopedia; and
- An automatically updating WikiProject directory that gives you lists of users participating in the WikiProject and editing in that subject area.
We have a live demonstration of the new WikiProject workflow at WikiProject Women in Technology, a brand new WikiProject that was set up as an adjunct to a related edit-a-thon in Washington, DC. The goal is to surface action items for editors, and we intend on doing that through automatically updated working lists. We are looking into using SuggestBot to generate lists of outstanding tasks, and we are looking into additional options for automatic worklist generation. This takes the burden off of WikiProject editors to generate these worklists, though there is also a "requests" section for Wikipedians to make individual requests. (As of writing, these automated lists are not yet live, so you will see a blank space under "edit articles" on the demo WikiProject. Sorry about that!) I invite you to check out the WikiProject and leave feedback on WikiProject X's talk page.
Once the demo is sufficiently developed, we will be working on a limited deployment on our pilot WikiProjects. We have selected five for the first round of testing based on the highest potential for impact and will scale up from there.
While a re-designed WikiProject experience is much needed, that alone isn't enough. A WikiProject isn't any good if people have no way of discovering it. This is why we are also developing an automatically updated WikiProject directory. This directory will surface project-related metrics, including a count of active WikiProject participants and of active editors in that project's subject area. The purpose of these metrics is to highlight how active the WikiProject is at the given point of time, but also to highlight that project's potential for success. The directory is not yet live but there is a demonstration featuring a sampling of WikiProjects.
Each directory entry will link to a WikiProject description page which automatically list the active WikiProject participants and subject-area article editors. This allows Wikipedians to find each other based on the areas they are interested in, and this information can be used to revive a WikiProject, start a new one, or even for some other purpose. These description pages are not online yet, but they will use this template, if you want to get a feel of what they will look like.
We need volunteers!
WikiProject X is a huge undertaking, and we need volunteers to support our efforts, including testers and coders. Check out our volunteer portal and see what you can do to help us!
As an aside...
Wouldn't it be cool if lists of requested articles could not only be integrated directly with WikiProjects, but also shared between WikiProjects? Well, we got the crazy idea of having experimental software feature Flow deployed (on a totally experimental basis) on the new Article Request Workshop, which seeks to be a place where editors can "workshop" article ideas before they get created. It uses Flow because Flow allows, essentially, section-level categorization, and in the future will allow "sections" (known as "topics" within Flow) to be included across different pages. What this means is that you have a recommendation for a new article tagged by multiple WikiProjects, allowing for the recommendation to appear on lists for each WikiProject. This will facilitate inter-WikiProject collaboration and will help to reduce duplicated work. The Article Request Workshop is not entirely ready yet due to some bugs with Flow, but we hope to integrate it into our pilot WikiProjects at some point.

Your bot edited the additions I made to this page. I'm sure you didn't even read what I added - which is consistent with other regimental pages and is verifiable. It is not vandalism and increases the amount of information available about the unit. Please leave it alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Columbus Moss (talk • contribs) 00:19, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Columbus Moss: I am NOT a bot, I do NOT run a bot. Your edit was undone in good faith and not tagged as vandalism. It was undone, both by me and another editor as a Puff piece. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 05:47, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
You used a bot to make the edit. You consider noting the regiment had FOUR COMBAT JUMPS to be "puffery"? You consider one of the regiment to have been awarded the Silver Star, the Distinguished Service Cross, and to have been nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor to be "puffery"? I realize you live in another country and probably don't know what that means, but you shouldn't try to erase things you have no idea what you're talking about. You're just being a busybody. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Columbus Moss (talk • contribs) 09:44, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Columbus Moss: Read the reasoning given in the edit summary for the revert after mine. Explains clearly. And no I did NOT use a Bot. Stiki is not a bot. Please learn to sign your messages on talk pages thank you. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 10:50, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

Alma the Younger
I had added in the birth year of Alma the Younger as well as Alma the Elder after reading through a book named "Book of Mormon Brain Bogglers" by Kevan J. Kennington. This book had a section covering birth years of various people from the Book of Mormon. I checked and cross referenced the dates in the book with The Book of Mormon as well as other research done by others. When I found that this information was missing from Wikipedia I decided to try and add it to help others in the future. However, I have yet to learn how to link references which I will be trying to do if I attempt to read the information that you removed. I guess that I thought that additions made in good faith were actually supposed to be taken in good faith as supposidly is Wikipedia's policy. Though, honestly I am considering not reposting the information since good faith is not good enough and I have been left feeling not only like I wasted my time and energy bit have also basically been reprimanded for trying to help and had the help that I tried to give removed. Hopefully others will not be so discouraged by the lack of good faith as I currently feel.
Thank you for your time and effort in trying to help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LtcdrRazor (talk • contribs) 09:52, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

If you have the information that is received from somewhere that, by definition, is a citation. Please add that instead of threatening others. This is meant to inform others, not indoctrinate.120.62.24.228 (talk) 14:00, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
- @120.62.24.228: I'm not threatening you. Some people have added data from news sources such as TV and thus are awaiting sources. Others are adding them [like me] in another edit. Stop removing them 30secs later. It is disruptive. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:02, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
