You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Black Dot Vodka has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:49, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The version you asked me to review appears identical to the previous version. It has the same problems: (1) it uses promotional/advertising language like "with a hint of cherries", "smooth, clean finish", and "distinctive label"; (2) winning a third prize for label design at one local show doesn't make this product notable per WP:N. Thank you for uploading File:Devsummit1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:44, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted material

[edit]

Much of the material you have contributed to articles appears to be a direct copy and paste from the inline citations you have provided for that material. Every edit any editor does says in the heading "Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted." I suggest that you work on this situation promptly, before deletions of some text, or at the maximum, deletion of entire articles, takes place. The material is informative and accurate, but it is an unacceptable situation. You can contact me here, or on my talk page, or by email from my talk page. --DThomsen8 (talk) 01:22, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

YSI

[edit]

This article was nominated for deletion as no indication of notability; As reviewing administrator, I saw that this was not correct (besides the claims in the article, I am a biochemist, and I know the company's products); but an article of the sort you wrote would normally be considered promotional, and, much worse, you copied the entire article from the company's "history" web page.

Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously; and does not accept material copied from other sources unless it is in the public domain, or released to us under a free license (It is, by the way, not necessary for pages to have a notice to be copyright: everything published on the internet or elsewhere is copyright to the owner of that content unless specified otherwise.)

It might be possible to get permission, but there is no point in doing so--a web site of this sort almost always is unsuitable for WP, because it is usually written as a press release, praising rather than describing the subject and containing material we would not include. It is therefore always better to rewrite.

fortunately, because I do know the company, I decided to rewrite the article rather than delete it.

There are other problems for the article. The principal one is that all claims of being "first" most be referenced to references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. I am leaving you to do it; there should be no difficulty--the analytical chemistry literature covered most of their major developments, and if you are working on behalf of the company, as seems very likely, they should have suitable files of articles discussing their products. If not, any science or business librarian can help you. Other information too is needed: financial data, company size, ownership, and discussion of the company's work generally. All of this has to be referenced. The various transitions in executives can be referenced from the firm's web site; the acquisition of other companies should have 3rd party references.

The format needed major modification: we write articles in paragraphs, not outlines. Bullet points are customary for a PowerPoint presentation, and thus give an inevitably promotional appearance to an article.

[edit]

A quick check finds the same problems with Flygt; here I am less able to rewrite, so please do it the way I have outlined for YSI. Strictly speaking, I shoulddelete it immediately, but if you have not done it in a week from now, I shall have to decide between deleting for copyvio and deleting it.

At Xylem Inc., I left you a question,as there are two contradictory statements about the divisions of the company. Esri Developer Summit is already discussed sufficiently in the main Esri article so I've proposed deletion, possibly with a redirect ;for Esri Internation User Conference, a good deal of cutting of minor details like the conference program is needed (the rule is that what is primarily of interest to prospective participants, it's inappropriate content). possibly then it should be merged with the main article; Black Dot Vodka, I've listed at AfD for deletion.

General advice

[edit]

Please never copy this way from an outside source again, and be absolutely certain that in everything you have previously written, there is not just no copying , but no Close paraphrase. If there is, rewrite that part from scratch, changing not just the words, but the arrangement into sentences and the sequence of ideas. I'm posting our formal warning notice below,. There are positive things you can do as a COI editor: update statistics and other factual information, provide free photographs of major company products to commons, but you should suggest other edits on the article talk pages. If you write a new article , I see you know to start in user space, but you should then ask an uninvolved editor to check that it ready and move it. I am very eager for articles on notable companies and products, and I will be glad to help you get them if you cooperate with our guidelines. DGG ( talk ) 16:21, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Blackdotvodka.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Blackdotvodka.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  ★  Bigr Tex 20:48, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Rvsuvarna/Godwin Pumps requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
