Disambiguation link notification for February 17
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Olton Reservoir, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page West Midlands (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article List of reservoirs in England and Wales by volume has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ==

- I drafted the article 11 years ago when i was a on the Reservoirs Panel. The work involved the responsibility to inspect reservoirs in England ans Wales under the Reservoirs Act 1975. With this the EA provided a document listing all reservoirs included under the Act which is where the numbers on the article come from. The numbers quoted are likely to be fairly accurate although with reservoir volume is fairly inaccurate due to siltation etc. I can't provide the pdf as the source document as it is password protected. The article was created not to be 100% accurate but to give a pretty good idea of what the largest reservoirs were in England and Wales as i could not find this information anywhere else on the internet. - Fair enough. The two issues I had were that the citation was not verifiable and that the reservoirs are managed separate in Wales and in England by different bodies so think the page should be split and with verifiable citations. Titus Gold (talk) 14:01, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
- There is crossover as Severn Trent Water and United Utilities operate many of the Welsh Reservoirs to provide water to Birmingham and Liverpool respectively and England and Wales work under the same guidance and Reservoirs Act. Scotland do not have much cross border water transfer and have more devolution so have more difference than Wales. Stove1441 (talk) 13:23, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
