List of 2600 players
Thank you for your edits to ARP 2600.
I welcome expanding the list of 2600 players again, but as per Wikipedia policy, we should not claim that someone has played the ARP 2600 unless we have a reliable source backing up the assertion (I prefer VSE simply because people can go to the page online and verify its contents more easily, but two references for a given player is OK too). There is a discussion about this at the ARP 2600 talk page which I encourage you to participate in. Samboy (talk) 01:57, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Castle Recording Laboratory
Hi, Just wanted you to know all those Hank Williams infoboxes had Castle Studio on the recording date line before I updated them. I will remember the correct format in the fututre, and let me know if you do other pages like that, recording studios are severely neglected on so many pages, it must be a staggering number. In fixing up song pages, I learned a lot about old recording studios, so that makes me a big fan of some of yours. I hope you plan to do some more, it is a niche area to specialize in, right?Tillywilly17 (talk) 17:06, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your help. Yes, I've been on a recording studio / recording engineer kick lately, and so many album / song infoboxes need improving. I'm also finding quite a few notable studios that either don't have an article, or whose article needs expanding, so I'll see what I can do to address those. synthfiend (talk) 17:21, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Recording studios
Hello, studios have been recently added to several songs. Is there a source for these? (particularly Universal and Chess studios added to songs by Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry). Thanks. Ojorojo (talk) 15:47, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for noticing. Today I went back and added references on all the Chuck Berry songs. I will have to dig up my references on Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Bo Diddley - some of it was based on Chess operating their South Cottage Grove studio location up until December, 1957 and using it primarily for rehearsals and demos. Chess projects recorded Dec, 1957 and later were mostly done at Chess' 2120 South Michigan Ave. studio (first called Sheldon Recording Studio, later called Ter-Mar).synthfiend (talk) 20:28, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- That would be helpful. Several bios indicate that Universal and other studios were used to record artists mentioned above, but often the songs aren't noted. Jody Williams who played guitar on several recordings, recalled that Chess' South Cottage Grove studio was often used, including for Howlin' Wolf's "Evil" (to which "Universal Recording Corp." was added.)[1] The Wolf bio Moaning at Midnight also notes "Smokestack Lightning" was recorded at South Cottage, rather than Universal.
- I noticed that the source that was added for many of the Chuck Berry studio entries is a personal fansite. A quick search shows that the author has several self-published fiction and non-fiction books, but nothing about music or Berry that would indicate that he is a "established expert" to meet WP:SPS. Also, when adding studio names in infoboxes corporate designations (Inc., Corp., etc.) and usually "Studio" are omitted (see Template:Infobox song#studio). —Ojorojo (talk) 14:24, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Brian Kehew Oct 2010.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Brian Kehew Oct 2010.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 05:31, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Studio formatting in album infoboxes
Hey there. Template:Infobox album#studio writes that for multiple entries, "format the items as a normal bulleted list; don't use other list templates or <br/>". So this is preferred to hlist templates. Tkbrett (✉) 15:35, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification! I could've sworn someone previously pointed me to something else that specifically said to use hlist templates, especially when 3 or more recording studios were involved. I will change the way I format my future edits, and will revise the formatting on my previous edits as I am able. synthfiend (talk) 17:53, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
