Help with improving my draft

[edit]

Hello Teseleemah,

I noticed you work on Nigerian articles, I would really appreciate it if you could help me with checking out my draft article on a Nigerian film director Dare Olaitan, for any grammatical error or lack of reference.

Thank you for your time. Aivrie (talk) 19:12, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I have worked and refined the article. There were some weavil and exaggerated words which I removed. I also removed statements without references, refined your tone and Added more references.
You can also cross-check for the last time before final submission.
Well done, you've done a great job! Tesleemah (talk) 06:16, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've contributed a lot to Ilesa, would you be interested in a taskforce on oral tradition? Kowal2701 (talk) 20:22, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!
What's it all about? I looked through but I can't find list of articles that are of interest
And how can I be of help? Tesleemah (talk) 02:34, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Its about improving Wikipedia’s coverage of oral tradition. It’s very nascent, we’re discussing the scope at the moment and your opinion would be greatly appreciated, and then it’s the tagging and assessment tables. Maybe watch the page as next steps will likely come up on the talk page? Kowal2701 (talk) 06:38, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, that's fine. I will be on the lookout. Do let me know if I can assist with anything. Tesleemah (talk) 17:50, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, to join just add your name under ==Participants==, if you look at ==To do== there's some stuff there if you're looking for something to do lol, but your time is valuable so no worries if not Kowal2701 (talk) 18:08, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I will. I have been trying to sign up as a participant but network here is unstable. I will try again later. Tesleemah (talk) 19:11, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Moved discussion

[edit]

Over at User talk:Adimora chidinma you said, "I'm referring to Nigeria community, even thou English is not our native language however must editors are literate, so we need just more push and support to gain insight to editing on English Wikipedia." I've seen a number of high quality edits from the Nigeria community. But, as we'd expect from any group of new editors, some problems as well. What stands out is a lot of article creations for subjects who fail WP:NOTE. These articles generally appear to be spam. Article creation is hard and I'd strongly suggest new editors work to expand existing articles with quality reliable sources (WP:RS) instead of creating new articles. If editors really insist on working on new articles despite that advice, I'd strongly urge them to very clearly emphasize WP:NOTE and WP:RS so it is incredibly clear to the reviewers that the new draft article satisfies those policies. On the other hand, for more experienced editors with a strong understanding of WP:NOTE and WP:RS, I'd definitely encourage them to work on article creation, especially about topics of interest to Nigerians. In general, the quality of written English exceeds that of other communities where English is a second language. That's great! I'd very, very strongly urge new editors to avoid AI entirely. It's very hard to use ChatGPT in an appropriate manner on Wikipedia (much, much easier outside of Wikipedia!) and very easy to accidentally use ChatGPT in a manner that's actively harmful to the project. Finally, I haven't seen this as a significant problem within your community, but WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:FAIRUSE is notoriously difficult, especially around images. A very simple and easy to remember rule is not to upload any image unless you personally took it with your own camera, and not to copy-and-paste text from anywhere else. And finally, Wikipedia has a lot of policies and guidelines and they can be overwhelming. WP:5P is a good place to start. Let me know if you have any questions! --Yamla (talk) 13:38, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the feedback, I will share them with my community so as to reduce the rate of disruptive editing. Tesleemah (talk) 13:42, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I have just reverted three of your edits (1, 2, 3) where you prematurely relisted an AfD discussion. Please note that AfDs are typically closed (or relisted) only after exactly 7 days—this equates to 168 hours or 10,080 minutes. These must fully elapse before a discussion can be closed or relisted. I am sure the WP:XFDCloser tool warned you, but I am not sure why you still went ahead. In this case, the discussion was clearly initiated at 22:42, 29 November 2024 (Wikipedia time) and should only be closed or relisted at 22:42, 6 December 2024 (Wikipedia time). But you relisted this discussion at 12:21, 6 December 2024, which was too early and unnecessary too because consensus was already established before your premature relist. It is unnecessarily time-consuming to revert three edits on an issue that could have been avoided. I strongly recommend that you read the guidance on AfDs to ensure you fully understand the process and expectations before contributing further. Happy editing. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 15:13, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for coming here @Vanderwaalforces
I relisted seeing it it's already 7 days ago, I was not aware exact time plays a factor too seeing [[1]] AfD was relisted by @Liz at 8:42am not 4:25pm (I have read the AFD closer instruction and I have been observing the closure of some)):).

Also User:Vanderwaalforces are you saying two votes are enough to establish consensus? Seeing that you tagged my relisting unnecessary. Tesleemah (talk) 16:01, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes, Tesleemah. Reiterating that, for non-admins, it must elapse. If an admin decides to close or relist a discussion before time, then they have a reason for it, and they’re accountable. So avoid doing that in the future.
Yes, two unanimous delete !votes are clear-cut consensus that the article should be deleted. In fact, in non-controversial cases, articles are soft-deleted even if there’s only one delete !vote.
Got that? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:06, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kazem Najafi Elmi

[edit]

You recently accepted Kazem Najafi Elmi at Article for Creation (AFC). However, the article does not appear to have been properly reviewed before acceptance. For future submissions, please ensure the articles are properly formatted or leave them for another reviewer. Here are some observations for improvement:

1. Career Section: The section is written in bullet points, which is not ideal. It would be more appropriate to present this information in prose format.

2. References: In reference 1, only this link is verifiable out of the group of sources.

3. See Also Section: The section is misused, linking to the Iranian president and including an external link as a reference, which is not appropriate.

4. Post-Acceptance Review: Since you are also a new page reviewer and you are sure that the article meets the notability criteria:, you could review the article immediately after accepting it. This would help reduce the New Page Patrol (NPP) backlog and prevent unnecessary questions on my talk page too.

Happy editing. Ibjaja055 (talk) 07:05, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ibjaja055

I just looked at the errors in the articles, indeed that was an oversight from my end. I have taken my time to cleanup the article and removed the "see also" section. Some of the references are in Arabic and I can also spot more than one that are verifiable, I believe they are notable and more improvement could be done. I have also reviewed the article from my end. Thanks for calling my attention to this oversight of mine. Kind regards. Tesleemah (talk) 12:37, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tianjin Real Estate Group is a significant state-owned enterprise (SOE) in China, with a diverse portfolio encompassing real estate development, infrastructure investment, hotel management, and construction services. As one of Tianjin’s largest local government financing vehicles (LGFVs), the group plays a critical role in urban development. Recently, its debt challenges have drawn substantial attention from global financial and investment communities, with coverage from outlets such as Bloomberg.

Media and Research Reports: A simple Google search reveals extensive news articles and investment analyses about the group, including evaluations from international authorities like Bloomberg and S&P Global Ratings. This demonstrates its influence beyond local markets.

Listed Subsidiary: The group operates through several publicly listed subsidiaries, which classify it as a statutory public entity in the financial sector. This status inherently increases its transparency and impact.

Asset Scale: Based on the latest available data, Tianjin Real Estate Group shows its significant financial scale and industry influence. As of 2023, the company's total liabilities reached approximately $276 billion, with shareholder equity at around $76 billion. These figures highlight its critical role in the financial and real estate sectorsAlthough exact figures vary, Tianjin Real Estate Group is a major player in China’s real estate and infrastructure industries, contributing significantly to local development and public infrastructure projects. Considering its scale, public accountability, and the global focus on its financial difficulties, the group meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. Its importance in both municipal and national economic contexts further justifies its inclusion as a topic of interest.

I appreciate your attention to detail. If you need any further assistance, feel free to let me know! Amazingloong (talk) 12:53, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I reviewed the article and I see that it contain news about just one event, which is the case of debt. Without adding more content to proof the notability, you should not have removed the tag. I won't drag this with you while I leave the page for other reviewers to do justice. Tesleemah (talk) 13:04, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Mainspring Energy

[edit]

You wrote: " Comment: Editor seems to be connected with the article and going to their page, there is no COI declared Tesleemah (talk) 14:42, 15 December 2024 (UTC)". When I go to the talk page of Shemsea, I find the following:

"Declaring no COI Often, when an article about a company is created, the creating editor is asked if they have a financial or personal connection to the company. If neither, a simple statement to that effect here would be appropriate. David notMD (talk) 09:48, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the Suggestion. I have no COI. I have no financial ties to the company. I learned of its existence about 3 weeks ago due to their contracting with a government agency, with which I am also not employed, but occasionally attend their public meetings. Shemsea (talk) 14:05, 11 December 2024 (UTC)"

It appears that no COI was declared 4 days prior to you writing that no COI was declared.

Also, editor DavidnotMD has commented as follows on his talk page:

"Draft: Mainspring Energy Thank you kindly for taking an interest in this article, and making some improvements to it. You will note from my past editing that I have an interest in nuclear energy/nunclear physics. This Mainspring Energy is a novel company I learned about a few weeks ago. I believe they make an excellent product, and they will become very successful. While it is a branch of chemical energy (they can burn fossil fuel, or biogas, etc.), I found their approach to energy production to be quite novel and worthy of an article. Shemsea (talk) 15:07, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

Shemsea Your statement on your Talk page is sufficient to make clear that you do not have a conflict of interest. David notMD (talk) 15:18, 11 December 2024 (UTC)"

You might wish to edit your comment. It is clear there is no COI.
