Nomination of Indian Journal of Medical Ethics for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Indian Journal of Medical Ethics is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indian Journal of Medical Ethics until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Randykitty (talk) 18:19, 5 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Mental Healthcare requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for four days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Redrose64 (talk) 16:26, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mental Healthcare in India has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pure WP:OR essay and WP:POV piece, suitable for a blog or media article, but not for Wikipedia. Such references that exist are wholly insufficient. WP:TNT is a valid solution here.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Also, the Indira Sharma article should be about her not about her son. It was not correctly cited, notability is not established, and you used her article to discuss her son. Please slow down and learn the policies and guidelines here-- you are creating a lot of faulty articles and a lot of work for other editors. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 01:56, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nah. One of the articles which mentions her son also mentions her job at uni. Another article, which received some press attention, also talks about a goof up. It mentions her presidency of IPS. Xyn1 (talk) 02:05, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's nice-- then you should have written it that way and cited it that way. Instead, you wrote an article about her son's misdeeds, under her name. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:07, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I am always on the lookout for taint. I prefer using real wikipedia pages to store info rather than use sandbox. If I came across even more info about her son, I would have created an article. It seems, that after checking out the news coverage her son received, I most-def think he needs his own page. Actually, my editing strategy is to write as much about both persons in that single page, if the primary individual's space devoted becomes much less compared to the 2nd, I opt for creating a new article. Since I am an impulsive and lazy wikipedian, I very slowly come to terms with the notability status of an individual/s. Xyn1 (talk) 02:17, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be helpful if you would be on the lookout for your own understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:21, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also [articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2010-02-27/ahmedabad/28123006_1_utsav-sharma-indira-sharma-ruchika-molestation-case this] ref even reports that she wants to be associated with her son. She is willing to enter into the spotlight to help her son. Xyn1 (talk) 02:23, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Indira Sharma has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not enough sources to write a longer than 1-sentence, non-coatrack, biographical article that complies with wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Charnock Hospital requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
