Walter E. Dellinger III

Walter Estes Dellinger III (May 15, 1941 – February 16, 2022) was an American attorney, legal scholar and Democratic politician. He was the Douglas B. Maggs Professor of Law at Duke University School of Law. He was Acting United States Solicitor General from 1996 until 1997 during the Bill Clinton administration. He also was United States Assistant Attorney General for Legal Counsel from 1993 until 1996. Dellinger III was born in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dellinger III died on February 16, 2022 in Durham, North Carolina at the age of 80.[1]
