The result of the discussion was: Withdrawn by nominator. Hut 8.5 17:35, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
Nominated for speedy deletion under G4, recreation of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fuck Joe Biden, author has reverted the placing of the tag three times. I have tried to inform the author to use WP:DRV and even opened a discussion myself, but they feel CSD doesn't apply and keep removing the tag. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 06:37, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Speedy deletion is invalid since the topic satisfies the main guidelines of independent articles. There are two redirects to another article, which prevent users from creating the actual article. The redirects Let's Go Brandon or Let's Go Brandon! must be removed to let users create the article. Best regards. 06:43, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep/Close 1) G4 does not apply to draft space, 2) I don't see any indication that Let's Go Brandon, with or without the trailing exclamation point, has been through a deletion discussion, and 3) This is exactly what draft space is for--cobbling together articles of disputed notability, or not. DRV is not necessary when a user believes there's sufficient extra coverage to overcome the problem that resulted in a deletion. Jclemens (talk) 07:38, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Keep - Both the nominator and the author are wrong:
- The nominator is wrong as to the G4 because the deletion discussion was about a different, although related, stupid slogan. The nominator is also wrong because the deletion discussion was an AFD discussion and does not apply to a draft.
- The author, User:The Stray Dog, was wrong in removing the G4 tag. A speedy deletion tag may never be removed by the originator of the page. The originator of a page should contest the speedy deletion by making a statement on the page's talk page. If they are using Twinkle, there is a button for the purpose. The author should be warned. This is not a ground for deleting the page.
- G4 does apply to drafts that have already been deleted via an MFD discussion about the draft.
- Both the nominator and the author are wrong. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:44, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
- Withdraw per Robert McClenon. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 16:41, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
