Sox23 (talk · contribs) - I am pleased... extremely pleased, to nominate Sox23 for adminship. Sox23 has been a tireless contributor to several articles around Wikipedia, especially, but not limited to those in the field of aviation. He is a knowledgable and responsible editor who closely watches and keeps tabs on all new additions to airport and airline articles, making sure they are up to date and accurate, spending countless edits assuring that each article is up to standard, uniform, accurate, and sourced; due to his efforts, he has fast become a respected member of both major aviation wikiprojects (Airlines and Airports). In recent months, I have encountered and closely worked with Sox23 in maintaining several articles and have found him as an asset to the project. Thus, I believe he will be a great candidate for adminiship privileges and am sure that many others will agree with me that his acquiring of this privileges will help further Wikipedia as a tool of refference. Thank You. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?
- A: I anticipate helping with the editing of aviation-related articles. I will try and keep them vandal-free as well as up-to-date to the best of my knowledge.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: I am particularly pleased with Chicago Midway International Airport, Tucson International Airport, and ATA Airlines. These articles are my "articles of focus" and I dedicate most of my time to them. I have edited all of the extensively and continue updating them from day to day.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: At times, some users (mostly anons contributing vandalism) have caused me stress here at wikipedia, but I have kept my cool and have come to an "agreement" with any conflicts I have come across. In regards to the vandalism issue, I have asked a few times for a page to be semi-protected because of constant vandalism by users which in turn causes me stress when I'm trying to fix their edits. I try not to constantly add/delete something to an article I know will be challenged by others but rather ask first the opinions on the article's talk page.
- General comments
- See Sox23's edit summary usage with mathbot's tool. For the edit count, see the talk page.
- Hi everyone. I have been editing wikipedia since September 2, 2006, and have made over 3,500 edits. I enjoy everything I do at wikipedia and try to keep wikipedia vandal-free (at least the pages on my watchlist). I have over 60 pages on my watchlist and that number keeps growing. I try to edit every day and there are days where I find myself so addicted to keeping up with this site that I am constantly on it. I love wikipedia and believe I would make a great admin!Do consider me for a possible administrator. I am a very trustworty person and only have wikipedia's best intentions in mind when editing!
Please keep criticism constructive and polite.

- Sox, I am sure that you are a fine editor, but this nomination is so incredibly unlikely to pass that I would suggest that you withdraw and come back in a few months when you've got more Wikipedia:space edits under your belt and more experience. Veesicle (Talk) (Contribs) 02:00, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- You are a fine editor, Sox23, but Veesicle has a point. Also, you can get some good feedback at editor review and some assistance at admin coaching. -- Jreferee 02:18, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose
- Strongly Oppose - Only 21 edits to Wikipedia space and your answer to question 1 shows no knowledge of administrative duties. Also, you don't need to be an admin to revert vandalism.--$UIT 05:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - needs more contributions in a wider range of subjects outside Aviation. --Arnzy (talk • contribs) 08:05, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, needs more expereience and edits. 21 edits is way too low an edit count for an adminship candidate. Terence 10:58, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, needs much more experience, and does not need admin tools to deal with reverting vandalism, any of us can do that fine without admin tools. -- Whereizben - Chat with me - My Contributions 14:05, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - needs a lot more experience. Terse answers to the stock questions. I've no idea what this candidate is like - Alison☺ 01:09, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Oppose - 21 edits Wikispace edits and few others are not nearly enough. Michael 01:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Answers are sort of weak and much more participation is needed in the project-space before applying for adminship. —Anas talk? 01:24, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
