WP:DYK section

[edit]

The WP:DYK section of the board grew out of hand. I have moved it to Portal:Russia/Did You Know Articles. I proposed it quite a while ago and nobody seems to object. Please add the file into your watch list, if you are interested in monitoring the Russia-related WP:DYKed articles abakharev 05:53, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed WikiProject Russia

[edit]

There is currently a proposed project dealing with the subject of the nation of Russia on the Wikipedia:WikiProject/List of proposed projects. Particularly now that article assessment is both a possibility and in several areas an ongoing reality, I personally believe that wikipedia's content relating to Russia could be dramatically improved by the creation of such a project. Also, creation of such a project would allow for more "advertising" of the existence of a collaboration, through the presence of a project banner on the appropriate pages, and probably draw even more editors to active participation in improving content related to France than the notice board does currently. I would welcome any parties who share this belief to list themselves as members on the page above, and, if there are enough members, to help in the creation of the project itself. Also, the new Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany, which has similar scope, is up and running and assisting in the development of Germany's content, so there is reason to think a similar effort related to Russia could work as well. Russian/Soviet cold war era Nuclear War films?

[edit]

Hi, I have just been reading about and watching a number of cold war era TV-movies made in the west which depict nuclear war. These include the American film The Day After and the BBC's Threads (1984). Were there any Russian counterparts made? ... al Seabhcán bin Baloney (Hows my driving?) 16:33, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've never heard of a Soviet movie that depicted some nuclear war or its aftermath... I don't think they made any, but can't be 100% sure. They've just released a Russian-made movie called Aurora about Chernobyl, if you're interested. KNewman 17:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
