This user is persistently adding links to websites that he creates through is web design company (as seen here and here)

He was warned about adding WP:COI content to BLPs through the BLP noticeboard for adding links to websites claiming to be officially representing Emily Deschanel. At the time, the website didn't even have any content on it; just a front page stating it was the actress' official website. Anonymous IPs then began persistently re-adding the external links to page Emily Deschanel as seen here and here even as other editors also reverted the edits. I requested page semi-protection, and (obviously) the anonymous IP edits stop and Fbeals is back adding the links himself with edit summaries stating he is acting on behalf of the actress (seen here). As can be seen on his talk page, he has been warned by different editors about linkspamming, but persists. Some of his edits violate BLP policy (seen here) but the spamming is what obviously is causing problems.

I'm requesting a short-term block, and perhaps a note from an admin reaffirming policy on linkspam? It's entirely possible (wp:agf) that he is acting on behalf of the actress, and that this is the actress' official website, but he's got a really obvious COI and shouldn't be self-promoting his websites through wikipedia. Attempts to talk to this user and discuss policy politely on his talk page have failed; it's been explained that adding links to wiki doesn't improve your listing in search engines, and that a user without a COI would likely add an official website very quickly, but user has not responded on his talk page. Update: The user in question has been block for two weeks for sock puppetry and linkspamming, and the socks have been indef blocked. If the spam issue arises again, I'll re-list it here. Thanks to User:MER-C for his research on the spam, which may be useful in the future. For now, this issue is resolved.

Like many 'dumbed down for patients' websites, the source provides less information than the articles and is therefore incapable of meeting our guidelines. I wasn't trying to add it frequently. At first I didn't even understand why it had been taken off. Why are there 3rd opinions needed to put it back but not to take it off? That was one of my first experiences editing in Wikipedia but for the most part I regret it because the website has been very openly called spam and I have been called a spammer. This page is for reporting clear spamming over several articles, and the link in question would be better discussed at the External links/Noticeboard. The link is currently not used in any articles. My feeling is that the link is dubious and there is no reason to include it: actually a couple of the other links may also fail WP:EL. Johnuniq (talk) 06:23, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

I am completely serious. I was shocked when I looked at the page for "The Crazies" and saw that it was turned into a virtual linkfarm for dreadcentral and bloody-disgusting.com. I pointed out two egregious examples in the talk page for The Crazies:

For an example of what I'm talking about, please look at the history of Daybreakers, in particular the actions of the user Zombie433 : http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Daybreakers&limit=500&action=history In many cases these links are being inserted where no ref is required, links to multiple pages are being placed for single pieces of information, and in some cases the pages linked are unrelated to the information presented. Please reject this report wholescale. Both sites are RELIABLE SOURCES used by the film project and horror project for years, and they have been vetted through GA and FA reviews. This user went through and removed them from numerous articles without any real reasons, and appears to hae some personal issue with both sites, rather than a legitimate concern of "spam". His claims on refs being added multiple times or where "not needed" only show his lack of understanding of referencing in general.-- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 18:05, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

My apologies, I confiss that I made many mistakes regarding linking in wikipedia, but all was due to missunderstanding not intending to spam, & thanks to Beetstra & MER-C, that cleared some points in the disscussion made don't want to be a spammer in your openion Here, that ended fine in a way satisfied me & cleared up some incomprehensible points for me

I wish to close this thread as 'not done', there is no need to block the domain as I will never post it in wikipedia any more. :)
