Yevgeniy Prokopov (Ukrainian: Євген Прокопов, born May 4, 1950, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian sculptor who was awarded the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine.[1]

Biography

Yevgeniy Prokopov was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1950. He studied sculpture at the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture (State University of Art Culture and Art History) in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 1980 Yevgeniy received a PhD in visual arts from the Academy of Arts of the Soviet Union in Moscow. After arriving in the US in 1998 Yevgeniy Prokopov lived and worked in Chicago; he now resides in Florida.

Yevgeniy's sculptures has been shown around 30 museums and galleries internationally, such as:

Over the last few decades, Yevgeniy Prokopov has had over twenty solo exhibitions. His artworks are in private collections in Ukraine, United States, Israel, Germany, Denmark, and Switzerland.

In 2005 his artwork was sold at Sotheby's Auction.

Yevgeniy Prokopov is widely known for his monumental sculptures.

Yevgeniy Prokopov has been awarded numerous national and professional prizes and honors in recognition of his artistic achievements:

National Ukrainian Government Award Merited Artist of Ukraine (1998), Edouard and Maurice Sandoz Foundation Award (1997), also numerous prizes for participation in International Sculptural Symposiums.

Articles and reproductions in print of his sculptures are found in specialized art publications, art history journals and books for art lovers throughout the world.

Yevgeniy Prokopov has been a member of the Artists’ Union of Ukraine since 1978.

He is a member of International Sculpture Center from May 2022.
