บรูโน ซามมาร์ติโน (Bruno Sammartino) มีชื่อจริงว่า บรูโน เลโอปาร์โด แฟรนเชโซ ซามมาร์ติโน (Bruno Laopardo Franceso Sammartino; 6 ตุลาคม ค.ศ. 1935 - 18 เมษายน ค.ศ. 2018)[1] อดีตนักมวยปล้ำอาชีพชาวอเมริกันเชื้อสายอิตาเลียน[5] ปล้ำให้กับเวิลด์ไวด์เรสต์ลิงเฟดดิเรชั่น (WWWF) เป็นแชมป์โลกเฮฟวี่เวท WWWFที่ครองได้นานที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์[6][7] และได้เข้าสู่หอเกียรติยศดับเบิลยูดับเบิลยูอีประจำปี 2013[8][9]
ประวัติ
[แก้]Bruno Sammartino เป็นนักมวยปล้ำที่โลดแล่นอยู่ในวงการในช่วงปี 1959-1987 ในยุคทองของเขานั้น เขาถูกเรียกว่า นักมวยปล้ำที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดของโลก และเป็นแชมป์ขวัญใจมหาชนในยุคที่มวยปล้ำยังไม่เข้าสู่การเอนเตอร์เทรนเนอร์นัก เขาขายตัวเองด้วยคาแรคเตอร์จอมพลัง นักสู้ผู้กล้าแกร่งจนเป็นขวัญใจของคนมากมาย รวมทั้ง Arnold Schwarzenegger ที่มีเขาเป็นต้นแบบในวัยเด็ก

กระทั่งในปี 2013 ทุกอย่างก็คลี่คลายลงฟ้าหลังฝนย่อมสดใสเสมอ เมื่อ Triple H ลูกเขยของ Vince McMahon ได้เข้าไปเจรจากับเขาถึงการเข้าสู่หอเกียรติยศของสมาคม ซึ่งการเจรจาเป็นไปได้ด้วยดี และจบลงด้วยการที่นักมวยปล้ำผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดของวงการเข้าสู่หอเกียรติยศของสมาคมที่เขาไม่ยุ่งเกี่ยวเลยนับยี่สิบกว่าปี
นักมวยปล้ำผู้สร้างสถิติ ผู้สร้างความบันเทิงอันยิ่งใหญ่ให้แฟนๆ การเป็นฮีโร่ของเด็กๆ หลายคน เขาคือคนคนนั้น
เขายังกลับมาร่วมงานกับสมาคมทั้งการออก DVD เกี่ยวกับตัวเขา ฟิกเกอร์เมื่อครั้งเขายังหนุ่มออกวางขายและขายดีมาก รวมทั้งการมีรูปปั้นทองแดงตั้งไว้ในสมาคมเพื่อระลึกถึงเช่นเดียวกับ André the Giant
