- Yes, indeed if there are enough sources (multiple) on the film's production (reviews are just one aspect of notability). Wonder if you could also find sources for Nila (2016) like this. Just include sources on production such as these: 1, 2 and 3.
- Many films do not receive reviews and that is what makes films not notable. Any source that says that the film is going to premiere directly on television do not count towards notability (normal press release). Churn over Agent cast listing
Hello @DareshMohan. There has been a lot of churn going on with the cast listing at Agent (film). The article is semi-protected because of all of the disruptive edits from IPs with persistent changes to the cast listing, including change the order, names of characters, descriptions of the roles, and the inclusion of actors with no evidence of their appearance. However the disruptive changes have continued with editor's not affected by the semi-protection. I started a discussion on the talk page at Talk:Agent_(film)#Cast section: seeking consensus and invited multiple editors to partici[pate with the goal of reaching consensus on the make-up of that section and then putting the whole matter to rest (until, of course, a new consensus is reached). I put the {{cleanup}} banner on that section specifically to drive editors to the discussion on the talk page and not continue with the churn. So, I was surprised to see your recent edit that removes the banner and continues with the churn and only with the explanation of "film released". Can you explain your reasoning further as to why the discussion on the talk page should not continue to resolve the disupte? Thanks. — Archer1234 (t·c) 22:48, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Archer1234: I respect your idea. But for now, we must wait until the film is released on OTT platforms. The reason I removed that tag is that sources are not needed (at least for Indian films) when a film is released because the names of the actors and/or characters are in the beginning/end credits. However, the reason the new account didn't create it at the right page title now was because that page was protected from recreation by a sockpuppet who has created this AFD page four times now already. They are persistently seeking to get this article deleted.
But the protection didn't apply to you since you have so many edits so they got you to move it for them. Just a head's up that when you see a new editor using a page title that seems like it is incorrectly spelled or is too wordy or is not a natural page title, it might be because the correct page title has been protected. Please check in advance to see whether this mistitling is just a way to get around page protection by having an experienced editor correct their "mistake". Please do not move an article from main space to Draft space more than once. A page creator is quite within their rights to object to the page move and move the article back to main space. It should not be draftified again. If it is not adequate to be in main space, you can work on improving the article, tag it for any problems it contains or pursue one of Wikipedia's deletion processes. moving a page isn't really considered to be a WP:MINOR edit. I'm not sure why you continue to mark edits in which you draftify an article as minor, but you should stop doing so. In addition, as I also posted in that other discussion,WP:DRAFTIFY isn't a intendedsubstitutefor deletion purposes and shouldn't be used as such. If you feel an article is beyond improving, then tag it for speedy deletion, propose it for deletion or nominate it for deletion. In addition, when you draftify an article, it's courteous to at least let the creator know that you've done so per WP:DRAFTNOTIFY. If you draftify an article and don't intend to try and improve it yourself, don't tag or otherwise nominate it for deletion, and don't notify the creator, there's a fair chance that nobody will notice and the draft will end up deleted per WP:G13 in six months if nobody makes any edits to it. If you're not going to be bothered to follow common practice when draftify articles, you probably shouldn't do so at all. If you feel an article needs to be draftified or deleted and don't want to follow the steps involved, post a message of a relevant WikiProject talk page and see what others think. Hello, Daresh Mohan . I guess two of these Indian films Abhaas ( prologue) (1997) and Dance Like a Man (2004), deserve an article on Wikipedia. I think no enough sources. - Hi there. Hope you are doing well. Creating articles for "people" is a tricky situation especially if the article sounds promotional. Not everyone who gets blocked is "guilty" but it best to declare anything in your user talk page and even if there is anything go through Articles for creation (creating draft before article). Both account Dotdotcomma and @Anwi6644 found guilty in same case of Sock puppetry En:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/50mMidas but still Dotdotcomma this user is unblocked. First Admin @Fr33kman blocked @Dotdotcomma and suddenly after some times he unblocked him this is really questionable. I want a proper Investigation aginst them now i doubt they are paid or not. Filmibeat reliable?
Hi @DareshMohan. I noticed in a couple of recent edits ([22] [23]) that Filmibeat was cited as a source. I understood from WP:ICTFSOURCES that Filmibeat is not considered a reliable source. Has there been a newer consensus that has changed that assessment? — Archer (t·c) 18:02, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Archer1234: I removed the bad source. Filmibeat is unreliable for stuff such as photos of actors, gossip etc. Reviews are fine. Just trying to source edits with whatever sources are found since unsourced edits can be reverted. DareshMohan (talk) 02:14, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Has there been discussion at WP:ICTF about it being okay to use reviews from otherwise unreliable sources listed at WP:ICTFSOURCES? If not, I think we should start one. That would be great if we could get consensus for that. I have always treated it as an all-or-nothing type restriction, so it would be good to know that there are circumstances where it is licit.
- As to your second point, I have to say I really disagree. Sourcing with bad sources is worse than being unsourced. It gives the impression of a claim having been verified, when, in fact, it has not. I would rather a claim remained unsourced than to be poorly sourced. Better to tag it with {{citation needed}} than to attach a dubious source. And yes, unsourced claims are subject to removal. I have no regrets over reverting an unsourced claim, although I do exercise some judgement when removing pre-existing unsourced claims.
