WP:Food Page
Hey, I understand that you want to help with the page but you need to pay attention before you make changes to the page. Twice you have added redundant or duplicate sections to the page, including a second related WikiProjects section and a second categories section.
Thanks,
--Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 18:29, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Jerem43. Thanks for the input. Those links on the right-side bar sure are tiny, particularly the statistics box (they're barely readable, due to being reduced in the bar). An idea is to possibly rework the page to make it more easily readable for editors, which would likely facilitate more activity there. No hurry; just some ideas. Problem with the search function for past TAFI
It looks like none of the search bars work for past TAFIs, even for the older archived articles. Must be something borked with how the search bars function. --NickPenguin(contribs) 18:18, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

it appears that they were not archived,and there may be an option of more than one article to be listed or available on the Main page, so it may be best to leave them in place for now. - What topics interest you? I can perhaps direct you to various project's per your interests. Also, be sure to check out the WikiProjects Directory. Northamerica1000(talk) 00:12, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for trying to keep Wikipedia free of vandalism. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism, such as the edit at Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, are not considered vandalism under Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage newer editors. Please read Wikipedia:NOTVAND for more information on what is and is not considered vandalism. Thank you. Psychonaut (talk) 09:18, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notification. Here's the differences between revisions page: [1]. I'm hesitant to restore the information because 1) I'm unfamiliar with the topic 2) I don't know if it's true and 3) it has spelling and grammar errors 4) it is potentially contentious, and 5) it's encyclopedic value is debatable. I've modified the vandal warning template that was sent to the user at User talk:Eternalarshifan to read as a simple notification, and posted a welcome notice there too. Northamerica1000(talk) 14:28, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- I agree the information was unconstructive and shouldn't be restored. I merely wished to point out that it wasn't vandalism and shouldn't be characterized as such. Thanks for modifying the user warning. —Psychonaut (talk) 15:11, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. In STiki, the "Good faith revert" option would have been applicable in this case. Northamerica1000(talk) 15:15, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ébène, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ICF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

- North, on another (altogether convenient!) matter -- could you visit Victoria Leigh Soto a minute, and do your magic on citations 20-28? Nelsondenis248 (talk) 23:17, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Nelsondenis248: Thanks for signing on with Today's article for improvement. The bare urls in the Victoria Leigh Soto article have been converted using Reflinks. Northamerica1000(talk) 00:14, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Article rejected. Pointers?
Hello, Northamerica1000!
My first article submission, MVIBO.com was rejected because of the lack of credible resources. I do have other 'credible' sources, but they are in Korean, not English. How should I go about adding that source? Can I even add a foreign source to the English wikipedia?
Please help me as I am still fairly new to wikipedia! I've learned a great deal, and it'd totally make my day to see my first submission be approved!
Thank you, Hanyoon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hanyoon (talk • contribs) 02:37, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Hanyoon: Per WP:GNG, "Sources may encompass published works in all forms and media, and in any language." There is no language limitation. By all means, feel free to add and utilize non-English reliable sources in the Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/MVIBO.com submission. Northamerica1000(talk) 06:25, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

TAFI random article generation for Main Page
I've been trying to fiddle around with your code here and I cannot get it to display properly on my sandboxed version of the Main Page. Maybe you can look into it, that seems to be the final obstacle left to be overcome for the project rollout. --NickPenguin(contribs) 20:07, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
- The fix for this is likely this: the code at Template:Random component main namespace needs to be utilized in user space, as it appears to not be transferable between various namespaces. In other words, you have to create a page as Template:Random component main namespace exists in your user space, from which the page reads from.
E.g. Template:TAFI Main page:
{{Random component main namespace|max=7|header=|subpage=Main page queue}}
<small>(To view another selection, {{purge|purge}} this page)</small>
Reads from Template:Random component main namespace:
<includeonly>{{{{{rootpage|{{FULLPAGENAME}}}}}/box-header
| {{{header|subpage}}}
| {{{rootpage|{{FULLPAGENAME}}}}}/{{{subpage}}}/{{#expr: {{rand| {{{max}}} | {{mod|{{#time:U}}|{{{seed|17}}}}} }} + 1}} }}
{{{{{rootpage|{{FULLPAGENAME}}}}}/{{{subpage}}}/{{#expr: {{rand|{{{max|1}}}|{{mod|{{#time:U}}|{{{seed|17}}}}} }} + 1}}}}
{{ #ifeq: {{{footer|}}}||<div style="clear:both;"></div></div>|{{/box-footer|[[{{{rootpage|{{FULLPAGENAME}}}}}/{{{subpage}}}|{{{footer}}}]]}}}}</includeonly><nowiki><noinclude>
{{documentation}}
{{purgepage}}
</noinclude>
This code above performs the randomization, and is transcluded on the top page using: {{Random component main namespace|max=7|header=|subpage=Main page queue}}.
Cheers, Northamerica1000(talk) 05:16, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Here are some additional pages that were created in order to make Template:TAFI Main page functional:
The random component pulls information from these pages randomly:
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/1
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/2
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/3
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/4
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/5
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/6
- Template:TAFI Main page/Main page queue/7
Cheers, Northamerica1000(talk) 05:55, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
One last thing, be sure to check out: Wikipedia:Today's article for improvement/main page placement, a test page for TAFI's presentation on the Main page. Northamerica1000(talk) 06:16, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- Here's an overview page I created: User:Northamerica1000/TAFI random generation. Northamerica1000(talk) 18:27, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Crashplan / Code 42
Hi North. I didn't notice until now that you were the AfC reviewer of the article I helped write on Code 42 Software. I wanted to let you know I requested the article on their product Crashplan be merged with it using {{request edit}} on the Crashplan Talk page. Since the product and company combined don't exceed WP:LENGTH, I think they should be together and the merge was already proposed in a template. Cheers! CorporateM (Talk) 00:18, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the notification. Since it appears that the developer of CrashPlan is Code 42 Software, a merge would certainly be functional to combine all of the information in one place. Northamerica1000(talk) 02:39, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- Cool. Cantaloupe2 performed the merge, but the products section will now need substantial condensing and the lead updating, so I'll help continue improving it from over there. CorporateM (Talk) 18:19, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
